Moving Forward: Your Opinion of ET

Discussion in 'Feedback' started by Baron, Aug 21, 2013.

How Should ET Move Foward from here?

  1. ET needs to implement lots of new features, like Facebook, LinkedIn and other social sites.

  2. ET should incrementally add new features based solely on user feedback.

  3. ET should get rid of features like Books/Brokers/Software Ratings and stick to forums only.

  4. ET has been great for the last 15 years just like it is and should be left alone.

  1. Maybe some form of hybrid system, where the OP and the forum moderator can decide if someone can stay or not after evaluating their posts in that thread. Maybe a 3 strikes and you're out rule, giving EVERYONE the opportunity to participate and only those who don't want to properly engage people (Per the OP's point of view) get two warnings and then they are gone from that thread.

  2. I find this very interesting as well.

  3. Self moderation is an absolutely moronic idea. Why are there police? Why can't folks just self regulate? If you want self moderation of your threads START YOUR OWN site. That way the little police wannabes can regulate everything. I'm not going to participate on a vigilante ruled site. Moderators are here for a reason. If you look at the assclowns promoting such an idea they are multi alias trolls who add zero value. The one joker alias seems to only respond to marketsurfer posts like its a bot or worse ( hmmmm, blackhat site link in, auto trolls??) self moderation will kill what's left of elite trader.

Don't do it, Baron. These aliases may even not have the best for elite in mind. Go back over their posts, you will see consistent trolling behavior and zero value add.

  4. Glass houses... There were no bona-fide buyers on that thread. All the "content" was from your fellow Surf-thread trolls.

  5. No doubt. That's a great idea to clean out the trash. In addition, more effort needs to be enforced to ban multi aliases.

Wonder what happens when you search the "self moderation" junior police officer club aliases and the banned ET words?

  6. Dual Listing:

For some very practical reasons, a thread should be allowed listing into two forums (to be nominated by the OP or Moderators).

Therefore the threads below can be seen on the front page with two forums:

"Quant-trader career advice" Automated Trading; Career Trader ( People doing search on either Automated Trading or Career Trader forum can find the same thread without missing it. )

"Noregrets' "Double or Nothing" Volatility Trading Journal" Journals; Options

Most likely more readers/posters would respond to individual threads due to dual listing.

  7. This is a good idea, in my opinion.

  8. Can't you use non-gutter language?

  9. Proper engagement and agreement are one in the same to the spineless little junior cops who suggest that they control their own content. Why even have a forum then? It would just be a bunch of cheerleaders. Once again, perhaps the worst idea ever suggested. surf

  10. I thought you only attack "ideas" and not "people"?

If this were a hybrid style moderated thread (per my suggestion), you might be receiving your first warning ;)
