Not the original show but the new iteration that was Roseanne and then the Conners when Roseanne got kicked off the show. They addressed immigration and the Trump election in a very similar way All.in the Family did. For example Roseanne voted for Trump and her sister Jackie voted for HRC so they fought about it in the first few episodes of the reboot etc...
Ahh, I recall that deal now in the news with her being booted from the new show. Yeah, never saw the new one. Too many shows to watch, so little time. P.S. I always had the hots for the actress that played her sister Jackie. Dunno' why, hehe
Most sitcoms who handle racism or political issues do it with Kids gloves on now....afraid of offending advertisers or viewers since you have 500 choices of shows and networks to watch Jackie....really? haha
Yeah, I thought she was cute, OK? I guess the 1970s gave me a baseline to jump from to new standards.
Will they remove Archie's chair from the Smithsonian? ? The original series is the only one I ever watched, but I don't remember that. Who's Nichol? Uhuru?
Lets just all agree if it wasn't a Spike Lee approved production it's got to go, and I'm not so sure he'll be black enough moving forward
The Conners had a lot of bad writing in the first season but they got into the swing of things on the 2nd. Laurie Metcalf (Jackie) was always at least as core to the cast as Rosanne. It seemed that original Becky just entirely forgot how to act but she got her grove back slowly. It is a pity though, I don't think anyone will argue that Rosanne Barr did great work however she got old and weird.
