If a trader can make it work. How about you personally, are you making it work?
I swing trade. I spend half an hour per day in the evening getting ready for 10 minutes of executions in the morning. That's gotta be easier than spending all day infront of a monitor.

  2. It works, I wouldn't have brought it up if it doesn't. I'm just purposely being vague about it. But also guiding lost souls in the right light and stepping stones, maybe. Most don't fully digest it though. Everyone wants things spoon fed to them instantly.

I just don't see any advantage and edge to swing trading. It feels too sloppy and beyond my control.

Yes, being in front of the market can feel like a total drag and grind sometimes. But then, the potential rewards are significant. You have to condition and train your mind, body and personality to adapt and not get bored, sleepy, during market hours

I moved from Investing to Swing Trading to Day Trading.

    It is less stressful.
Don't need to worry about sky falling down when I am sleeping.

How is being vague helping to guide lost souls.
The advantage I see is my time. Not being tied up all day, that's like having a job.
I also don't have to make my decisions in the heat of the market.
I'm to lazy to change the way I operate. Old dog, new tricks, (I'm all for change as long as I don't have to do anything different.)

  5. swing trading is even MORE mentally taxing as you are holding positions against possible VERY large news/overnight risk

I don't find it taxing at all. Keep in mind that the news could be good. You miss a lot of big moves being out of the market.

  8. Day trading is definitely easier for me mentally than swing trading. But different strokes for everyone. Gotta adjust your risk to what you can handle, regardless.

  9. Hello Jdesey,

I only day trade Futures Market.

Swing trading cost too much money; to hold ES contract over night is like $25,000 per contract. Complete waste of time for me. Day trading margin is only $500 this is cheaper.

I do not know what stress and mental fatigue means honestly. I do not care about stress and mental health. I never took time to figure out what stress means. Waste of time. I only care about making a lot of money in the ES futures market. But I know what being poor and starving means and feels like. So I do not care about my health, I care about being rich. Better than being poor.

If I have to die or ruin my health trading ES Futures Market 8 hours a day to be rich, then I have to die and have bad health trading ES Futures Market to be rich. It is FAR better than be poor in America. I rather DIE quickly, then EVER be poor in living in America again. SimpleMeLike

I prefer day trading all day from 8:30am to 3pm. Then I go play video games after work.

Day trading is a Full Time job for me. Futures market is only for people who was once poor.

It is not stressful or mental fatigue on me because I enjoy it.

  10. If day trading is causing you stress, you may be doing it wrong (too high leverage and/or too little skill/knowledge).

Anyway, do what works for you. There's plenty of arguments for swing trading over day trading.
