    Real Money

That trade is really impressive. The fact that he added 200 contracts after the first leg down, and then 700 more after the second leg tells you that this guy is a stone cold killer.

That trade has pro written all over it.

I read somewhere that he started a family and is diversified now. There is more to life than chasing money. He was a very low key anyhow (small apartment, noodles for lunch) so why risk your capital when you don't really need more?

"He seems to have shifted his focus on the slower real estate market (a rumor is due to spend more times with his wife and families). Last time we heard about him was April 2018, when he sold a property in Akihabara for 12 billon yen, or 110 million USD, after collecting the double amount of profits from the sale and rents for the past 10 years."

He supposedly made 202 MM altogether:

A counter example would be the Indian guy in London who got arrested for picking a fight with the SEC. That fucker had 40+ millions yet his mother was working 2 jobs. He clearly was an autist.

  6. I found Tom Baldwin's EXACT P/L for 1987 in some legal documents (the case was about some unpaid taxes). "In 1987, petitioner earned $19,160,059 from his bond trading activity.". Only five years into trading too! Plus 19 million would have had about twice the buying power back then as opposed to now. Thought you'd find that interesting. Tagging @MrMuppet and @s0mmi cause I think they'll appreciate this nugget of info too. When he started trading in 1982 he was basically broke and then made a million dollars in his first year of trading. Amazing story. A true phenom.

"The king of the bond pit, nay of all pits, was (and will forever be) Lucian Thomas Baldwin III (trading badge "BAL"), known for the largest trading size of any local - thousands of contracts a day - and his ability to single-handedly bully what was then the half-trillion-dollar government bond market. While I was still a teenager, at a time when most in Chicago idolized M.J., I idolized BAL. As a clerk in the pit, I intently studied his trading. He was a man possessed (which perhaps explained his unfortunate and notorious pencil-stabbing pit incident), but what was so astounding about him was his disciplined control in alternating between tremendous patience and overwhelming aggression." - Mark Spitznagel
