Melania has a new grift and it’s even more grifty than her last one https://www.queerty.com/melania-new-grift-even-grifty-last-one-20220209 Melania Trump has a new grift, y’all. Parler just announced a new “special arrangement” with the ex-FLOTUS that involves her sharing “exclusive communications” on the social media network. The platform, which is popular among Donald Trump supporters, conspiracy theorists, and far-right extremists, says Melania will share “exclusive communications on Parler,” adding that it is already powering her website, MelaniaTrump.com. Related: Melania’s hat auction ended up being a money-losing crap out “In the time that Parler and Mrs. Trump have been working together, we have found a new level of productivity and engagement with both her, her team, and her brand,” Parler CEO George Farmer said in a statement this morning. Did you catch that, folx? Melania Trump is apparently a “brand” now, even though the only thing she sells are NFTs on her website. Although whether she’s even selling them remains a mystery since Vice just reported that the sale of her most recent NFT was purchased for $170,000 by the creator of the NFT, who is, presumably, Melania herself. In her own statement released this morning, Melania said she’s “excited and inspired” to be working with Parler, which she believes “empowers its users to foster productive discourse.” Like last year, when it was revealed the MAGA militia used the platform to embolden domestic terrorists and plot the Capitol insurrection. “I am excited and inspired by free speech platforms that give direct communication to people worldwide,” Melania added. “Parler has been on the forefront of utilizing Web3 technology and empowers its users to foster productive discourse.” The ex-FLOTUS still has active accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. It is unclear whether her partnership with Parler will impact her activity on those three platforms. Also unclear is whether she’ll have any involvement with her husband’s social media platform, Truth Social, which launches later this month. Now, some tweets about Melania’s new “special arrangement”… (More at above url)

'Huge scam’: Former aide says $375K in donor money being used to rent unused office in Trump Tower https://www.rawstory.com/huge-scam-...r-money-renting-unused-office-in-trump-tower/ Donald Trump's political action committee spent $375,000 to rent office space in Trump Tower — even though the committee have no presence in New York, HuffPost reported Friday. “It’s a huge scam,” said one former aide. “I can’t believe his base lets him get away with it.” In 2021, Trump's Make America Great Again PAC spent $37,541.67 a month for ten months renting space in the Trump Organization building in Manhattan, according to a HuffPost analysis of campaign finance filings. "The ex-aide’s assertion was confirmed by a Trump Tower employee who screens traffic to offices above the floors that are open to visitors," HuffPost reported. "When asked for permission to visit Trump’s political office recently, the employee told HuffPost that Save America and its related entities did not have offices there. 'It’s all being run out of Florida,' he said, declining to give his name." Trump's campaign itself also rented unused space in Trump Tower. "That was the same monthly amount his campaign had spent there from mid-2017 through the end of 2020, when his reelection campaign was actually based in northern Virginia, across the Potomac River from Washington," HuffPost reported. "In all those months, there was at most one person who periodically visited the 7,000-square-foot office in Trump Tower, the former aide said. But Trump insisted on having the campaign continue renting there ― as it had during the 2016 election ― because the building was having trouble finding tenants, he said." In 2016, Trump reportedly increased the rent his campaign was paying at Trump Tower by five times after donors began footing the bill. HuffPost noted "the $375,417 Trump spent for the unused office space is more than the $350,500 that his Save America committee donated last year to Republican candidates running for office, which is ostensibly Trump’s purpose for raising money for his committees." Trump's not giving his mountains of cash to other Republicans https://www.stripes.com/theaters/us...eral-election-commission-filings-5097503.html Donald Trump's Save America ended January with $108 million in the bank, yet the former president's political action committee didn't donate any of it last month to the dozens of candidates he's backing. Though his name won't appear on any ballot in November, Trump will have plenty of money to make his presence felt in the midterms. Trump's leadership PAC took in $4.1 million and spent $1.5 million in January, according to its latest filing with the Federal Election Commission. Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee raised $13 million and spent $17.6 million, including a $5 million donation to the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which backs GOP candidates for the upper chamber. Trump has endorsed GOP candidates running this year, focusing on those who support his baseless claims the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him or are challenging Republican incumbents who opposed him. He's championed more than 140 candidates since leaving the White House, about half of whom are running for federal office. He's also endorsed politicians running for state and local positions as well as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Save America has donated just $350,500 to candidates since July. That's less than the $838,000 the PAC has spent on event staging and related expenses in January. Trump has wide latitude on how he spends the PAC's money. The federal law that bars candidates from spending campaign money on personal expenses doesn't apply to money raised for a political action committee. Trump could use the war chest to hold rallies, purchase air time and fund organizations that promote his agenda. One thing Trump can't spend the money on is a 2024 presidential race. If he became a candidate, Save America would be limited to giving his campaign $5,000 per election. Unable to use the PAC's millions to pay its expenses, a new Trump presidential effort would have to start raising money from scratch.
Melania Trump's Florida Event Cancelled Over Questionable Fundraising https://www.ibtimes.com/melania-trumps-florida-event-cancelled-over-questionable-fundraising-3423372 The 'Tulips & Topiaries' event was supposed to be held in Naples, Florida, on April 9 Officials began investigating the matter after the organizers failed to register to solicit contributions Trump's office said the event will be rescheduled An April fundraiser event in Florida featuring Former First Lady Melania Trump has been canceled after state regulators voiced concerns over questionable funding. In late January, Melania announced an event she called “Tulips & Topiaries” to be hosted at an undisclosed location in Naples, Florida, on April 9. The event was supposed to feature an “elaborate flower garden with tulips” and “delicious hors d’oeuvres alongside tea and bubbles.” Tickets for the event were put on sale for a minimum of $3,000 and a maximum of $50,000. People who paid $3,000 a ticket would have gained access to the event and an afternoon high tea featuring Mrs. Trump. Attendees who purchased one of the 10 VIP slots worth $50,000 would have been seated at a premium table and have up-close and pre-eminent engagement with the former first lady. The proceeds of the “Tulips & Topiaries” event would have benefitted Trump’s Fostering the Future initiative, which would grant computer science scholarships to children emerging from foster care, according to a brochure. However, the event was canceled after Florida federal officials noted that Whip Fundraising, a consulting firm that helped organize the fundraising event, had not registered as required by the state to solicit contributions and donations. Officials added that the firm only registered after authorities launched an investigation into the matter. Under state law, certain organizations asking for charitable donations from their residents are required to first register with the state and then submit a report detailing how the money would be spent. Brad Keltner, the head of Whip Fundraising, denied accusations that his company broke state laws. He argued that he had received initial guidance in December that said he did not need to register as a fund-raiser. Keltner added that he only registered after state investigators contacted him. The money garnered from the ticket sales of the canceled event would now go to GenJustice, a nonprofit group in Florida that helps foster children. It is unclear how much the event has raised. In a statement, Trump’s office refused to offer numbers and said the event was not canceled, instead, it will be rescheduled. “The event organizer is rescheduling to a future date due to the overwhelming support from individuals and charitable organizations,” the office’s statement said.

Trump Asks Supporters to Give Him Money For New Plane After Emergency Landing Over the Weekend https://www.mediaite.com/trump/trum...ane-after-emergency-landing-over-the-weekend/ Donald Trump’s PAC sent out an email blast telling the former president’s supporters to give him cash for a new private jet called “Trump Force One.” On Wednesday, multiple reports ran the story that Trump was traveling on a plane that had to make an emergency landing after a speech he gave to a number of Republican National Committee donors in New Orleans. The plane belonged to a GOP donor who lent it to Trump so he could fly back to Mar-a-Lago, but shortly after take-off, the plane returned to the airport because of a reported engine failure, and Trump caught a flight on another donor’s plane instead. Insider reports that hours after the story got picked up by the media, the Trump Save America PAC emailed supporters with a request they contribute to “Trump Force One’s” construction if they want to see it. The email links to a webpage where people are asked to give monthly recurring donations for as much as $2,500 a month. “I need to trust that you won’t share it with anyone: my team is building a BRAND NEW Trump Force One,” the email said. “The construction of this plane has been under wraps — not even the fake news media knows about it — and I can’t wait to unveil it for everyone to see.” Insider notes that Trump still has his private Boeing 757, though it is “sitting unused in upstate New York” after the former president said it was getting a tune-up months ago.
