It was actually late 2017 when it started...and you want to blame inflation 5 years later on that? After Biden put trillions into the economy? You have some TDS on your chin there.

China CCP is politically vulnerable to severe tariff hikes, Trump - Rubio could step large against China.

the orange man started it, the chinese caved in 2020 with a signed trade agreement to pause. they thought just money but not a war. now it is obviously a war so they will drop the hammer via friendshoring in vietnam and mexico.

volfefe is nothing but damages, the costs took a while to work into the price.

For the record, the inflation that we had is NOT due to Trump imposing the tariff. It's due to the 1) the sharp drop in productivity due to the lockdowns and the various health measures due to covid, 2) Biden handing out cash irrepressibly during covid even though rent payments for residential and commercial properties were suspended and 3) Fed lowering interest rates on top of Biden handing out cash. Lots of free cash + no stuff available to buy, the perfect textbook formula for inflation. Has nothing to do with tariff. China imposes 50% tariff on foreign imports always and yet there is hardly any inflation in China and China went through even tougher lockdown's during covid.

No I am not asking people not to consume. I am asking people to buy more strategically. Instead of spending money constantly to buy crap, I am suggesting people to spend more money to crap that lasts longer so they actually end up having more money left over to buy more crap. So 1) it puts inflation in check and 2) it ensures higher employment and actually higher productivity. Switzerland has less population than the USA and has lower immigration and yet it has one of the highest GDP in the world. Why? It doesn't churn out cheap crap to make money; it actually spends the time and effort to make quality shit that people are willing to pay more $$ to buy. USA used to be like that. Its "Made in the USA" label used to stand for quality and it lasted longer and people were willing to pay more to buy them now it stands for shit because it's cut quality in order to be "competitive".

No, you do not need new cars every couple of years. And the jobs will come from the higher revenue from charging higher price for quality products that you made. The only reason why companies are not focusing on quality right now and instead are trying to stay "competitive" by making cheap crap and charge less price is because foreign exports are dumping cheap shit into the US and US companies have no choice but to join them. This is why Trump is levying tariffs on the foreign exports to sort of level out playing field a little and to allow US companies a chance to go back to produce quality stuff and charge a fair price instead of going into this never-ending price-cutting war against TEMU shit.

That's a pretty hard sell in todays world.
It's all about buy, buy, buy. Look how black friday has morfed into black friday week and pre-black friday week sales.
The guys living from pay cheque to pay cheque will be buying at the lower end of the quality scale just to try and stay above water. Throw a tarrif on what they buy and they'll have to buy less. Tarrifs will hurt the little guy. He can't afford to live with todays prices.

Yep. Watch “buy now” on Netflix. The big guys would not survive without the constant turnover. Buying American is long gone and never coming back. It doesn’t work in our current environment.

And besides Trump's covid care packages were economic reliefs for government spending, businesses and hospitals and etc., not putting money directly into people's hands whereas Biden stuffed money directly into people's hands and didn't stop even when Covid was on its way out. It was money in people's hands that allowed them to spend and pretty much bid up the price of the goods when there were no goods around due to a drop of productivity that produced inflation.

You are not only not an expert on China but don't have the basic knowledge about economics.

Well that's why we got Trump. Trump sells hard. LOL

Again, like I said, I am NOT asking people not to buy. You can still buy, but just don't buy multiple cheap stuff and instead buy less one or two good quality stuff. It turns out to be the same thing, buying 5 shitty stuff X $3 each is exactly the same as buying 3 good quality stuff X $5 each; you are still spending $15 at the end so there is no loss of affordability there for the little guy and in aggregate, the companies are not losing money so there is no loss of jobs. It's true old habits die hard but that's where tariffs come into play. Instead of allowing foreign exporters to dump $3 shit on the US market, with tariffs, their price would be $5 now, exactly the same as "Made In the USA" quality stuff or even more so people would be more encouraged to buy local. This is the way how we always did it before we let China into WTO and it was all fine. Nobody complained that they can't afford to live. What's the problem now?

If you really want to still "buy, buy, buy", then you need to "make, make, make". You can just sit around watching soaps and expect stuff to fall from the sky for free without consequences. We are long past the time where we can just enslave people or colonize people to get stuff for free while sitting around doing nothing. Today nothing is for free. You have to pay for it one way or another. What are you willing to give up to exchange for getting a cheap pair of plastic potholders that melt and warp the first time you use it to hold your Thanksgiving turkey oven dish? Today, it's the ones who work to create wealth that holds the power. You want to get stuff cheap? You need to work to earn it! At least Trump is making it easy by adding tariffs onto the foreign exports so they have less of a head start. Musk is making it easy by developing AI. The least we can do is get off our chairs and work!! To make America, to make the West great again!! It's not Trump that will make America great again, the West great again. It's all of us!!

Party is over!! Stop complaining about tariffs and start working!! Made in the USA!!! :)
