Agriculture is not the only thing what pushes price to go up, so I guess I should've said "manufacture local, buy local" then. And besides there are plenty of places in the USA in fact where the major agriculture farmlands in the USA are located do not have snow.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out. Like I said the consumer will pay the price. The reason The US imports so much is that other countries produce goods cheaper so if you are going to buy goods produced in the US you are going to have to pay more for them.

you are so out of loops about the ownership and the make. the last gamma jacket I bought almost 10 years ago was made in vietnam.

they are reasonable priced for extreme mountain sports, buying cheap is not an option.

but i must admit that i looked like an asshole from head to toe with the same brand of gears.

Fentanyl Rises Again, This Time as Trump’s Diplomatic Weapon Against China
The president-elect’s pledge to use tariffs to stem the flow of opioids from China could backfire if Beijing responds by ending counternarcotics cooperation.

    _________________________________________________________

Why is it so hard to stop the flow of Fentanyl from China to the US?

The solution is so simple; just don't buy/eat Fentanyl!

I guess those who take drugs will understand why this problem is almost impossible to fix.

no, the problem is that the chinese security apparatus outside of its home country is weak, and almost nonexistent.

we always assume that the chinese spies are everywhere but they are nothing in comparison to cia and dea. drug dealing is a death penalty at home so if the money is good and is outside the reach of chinese security services, like in mexico, drug dealers flourish.

Canada Goose costs a fortune but imo is so much better. You really get your money's worth. arc'teryx is just short puffed up polyester crap. I can't believe the wikipedia article says arc'teryx is considered high-end jacket. If I have money, I would buy Canada Goose for sure and never on arc'teryx. LOL

Crime will increase once Fentanyl prices go up, best for Trump to keep prices low and avoid riots in Texas.

What people don't understand is that the real price of something is not its marked price but its value, how much you get out of it at the end of the day after spending your money on it. If you spend $20 and the shit only lasts six months, you have just wasted $20 but if you spent $80 on the same thing but the thing lasted 10 years, the actual cost of the thing is only $8 (80/10) on an annual basis. And if you have to spend another $20 and the shit lasts six months again, the real cost of that thing that you thought is so much cheaper is actually $40, FIVE times of the same thing that cost $80 originally. And if you have to keep spending $20 to buy the same shit over and over again for $10 years, the cost is astronomically higher. That's how China got rich initially honestly, by selling you dirt cheap shit that only last short amount of time so you are forced to have to keep spending money to buy them again and again and again. And not only that it's now forced others to go for the cheap route to be more "competitive" instead of focusing on quality. When was the last time that you have bought something even made outside of China that lasted 10 years? Or even 5 years? And ironically, to its credit, China has actually improved the quality of its stuff. Majority of its stuff, as long as it's not a scam are actually lasting at least 5 years.

So hopefully with this "manufacture/produce local buy local", we can bring quality back. This is what I would like to see. And this is what would actually bring inflation down. Even though you pay more initially but you don't have to spend for the next x amount of time.
