Correct. Limbaugh was asked by a media print company to use about 400 words addressing what he "hopes" to see come from the new President. He replied, " I don't need 400 words. I need four . . . I HOPE HE FAILS." Period.
Amusing the left grabs this as some kind of lightining rod. Rush is an idiot and so is z10. However, for every Rush the left has 10 liberal equivalents who said much worse about Bush. Pull your head out of your ass.
Rush is a treasonous windbag. Anyone who listens to his show is un-American. He and his audience are America and freedom haters. ...the bitter right just crossed the line....they are enemies of the state.
Are you and your buddy Thunderdog incapable of understanding the difference in the concept of "my country" and an elected official, in this case Obama? Pay attention. Obama is not the "country", as much as Chris Matthews and the rest of the media think he is. Rush has the intellectual capacity, which many seem to lack, to appreciate that there is a vast difference between Obama "succeeding" in foisting his policies on us and the country "succeeding." America will suffer if Obama is able to implement his policies. I understand that you think this is a perfect chance to expose the right as hypocritical because they objected to critics of Bush's war policies, but you are missing a critical difference. When we have troops under fire, it is dangerous to give the enemy the idea that the President lacks political support for the mission. That only emboldens the enemy and encourages them to dig in and try to kill as many americans as possible to further erode the President's support. Yet that was exactly what the democrats did during both the Iraq and vietnam wars. There is a range of political disagreement that is appropriate, but the democrats clearly went far beyond that.
For the record, Rush stated on a show last night that he hopes Obama succeeds if his policies are Reaganesque, and hopes he fails if his policies are socialist. That would seem reasonable to me, since as a self employed individual I am not a fan of socialism. "The hypocrisy is indeed palpable. When Bush was president, it was unpatriotic and anti-American to disagree with him." The NYT and a large part of congress and the left wing as a whole apparently didn't see it that way, even while we are at war. Indeed, the hypocrisy is palpable. The media battered Bush relentlessly, and perhaps it was justified, perhaps not. They failed to vet O man, and yet, some are now saying anyone who is opposed to O man is somehow a bigoted redneck (tom brokedick). I find that extremely offensive, and it renews my hatred of the arrogant asshole 2 year olds in the media. As I have told my friends who have joined the bandwagon, I hope the O man enjoys success if he stays in the middle. He demonstrates to our critics in the world what this country is about. It is very historic, and as any elected official, he deserves his chance. If he takes a hard left, I hope he does not succeed, or at least I hope such policies don't. Unfortunately, he has already brought in many Clintonites. How do you die hard lefties feel about that? Change, huh? I'm willing to see what he has done a couple years from now. Shit, if he becomes pro life, pro gun, pro business, and anti tax...I'll even vote for him. In many ways, he has already succeeded. He is the first AA president.
Blather, spin, doublespeak... You sir, cannot handle the truth that Rush would rather see America go down the tubes than have America succeed under Obama's policy and leadership. Rush is about advancing his own agenda, not what is best for America... By the way, your fear card shit of the "enemy" didn't work in the general election, and it isn't working now. Old dumb republican dogs and of course no new tricks... Drink the Rush koolaid to the bitter end, that's what the republidiots will do... Obama has the mandate, he is the decider, you are either with him, or you are against America...
You, and others like you, seemed to have some difficulty making this distinction during the Bush years. THAT is the point of contention. Dogma when it's convenient, and all "nuanced" rationale when it's not. http://www.answers.com/hypocrite
Translation: I have no rebuttal whatsoever for AAA's comments, so I will have to spout utter nonsense and ad hominem as per my troll DNA. Never mind that I railed against Bush every day on ET (and still do) and never considered it being against America. My hypocrisy knows no bounds. Oooh, is that a half-full bottle of vodka I see? Glug, glug, glug.
FDR was long dead before "we pulled out of it".... Everyone should hope for every effort at Socialism to fail. Suddenly, Obama's biggest fans are from Rogue nations, and the bloodsucking left here in the states
