Alright, I am going to just stop this nonsense. There’s too much knee jerk reaction to blame lazy cops for not enforcing the law. That’s my opinion. It’s a lame brain excuse and it’s a cop out. I know law enforcement at many levels work very hard to ensure people who should not have guns don’t and a lot of the time it’s very dangerous work. They are not to blame for things like this, it’s the republicans and the nra for weak laws and a reckless policy on guns.

I have known for quite some time you can be a total duck up and thug in the eyes of the courts and still own a gun legally.

I am not surprised this guy who had an instinct to put a gun in someone’s face had previous incidents with guns nor am I surprised he is legally allowed to own a gun. Depending on what he gets convicted of, he may still be able to legally own a gun.

I am grateful for the small carve out the Feds have made for domestic violence abusers to be prohibited from owning a gun even though that is still a misdemeanor. More work needs to be done on what misdemeanors should prohibit gun ownership.

All of the people saying I’m someone who wants to ban guns are just making that up and actually liars because there is no basis for it. There is no reason we should have 40,000 deaths from guns a year on top of the larger number of injured, paralyzed and traumatized from gun violence. But making people like me out as people that want to ban guns is what gets used to justify reckless gun policy and weak gun laws that lead to so many deaths.

I said this numerous times because I believe it is true 1. The nra is evil because it perpetuates death and harm 2. The only way to get meaningful gun reform laws is from the right. It’s a matter of many deaths they can stomach.

You can disagree with the above but the nra is all about gun sales not gun ownership and republicans are scared of the nra, just like trump said. It’s all a perpetuation of fear. People are scared of gun violence so they need to buy a gun and the more guns and violence the more people need guns. It’s an unhealthy cycle based on death. Totally an evil marketing strategy.

I can and do disagree, but that doesn't mean you don't have a right to feel that way. Its when you tell me how to feel we get into it.

There are many examples where the cops just didn't enforce or do their job and if they had, they could have stopped a tragedy. Parkland was just one of those examples.

  3. George Will once remarked that the truth of an assertion has nothing to do with how fervently it is believed or expressed. You are an example of that.

The NRA is the country's oldest civil rights organization. They have been staunch defenders of the individual's right to keep and bear arms, through thick and thin. Every person who values freedom should be a Life Member.

The left wants to flood our country with people from dysfunctional third world societies with high rates of violent crime. They also want to release dangerous felons from prison, let them vote and water down punishment for young thugs. At the same time, they want to take away our right to defend ourselves. They then have the chutzpah to call the NRA and its millions of patriotic members evil. Seriously, BTFO.

I wonder why the Dems didn't want to hear from Steve Scalise on gun violence during their gun discussion. Very telling IMO. Probably the same type of reasons why Pelosi won't meet with parents of kids killed by illegals. Here was what Steve had to say about Dem gun legislation.

“Gun control is what they’re trying to get at,” Scalise said of House Democrats. “They want full gun registration, they want to take away your rights.”

Regardless of what Dems and GC proponents promise, registration of all gun ownership will be used to confiscate at some future time. Those whom registration would supposedly prevent from owning or acquiring would not stop them. They would still get guns which would not be registered, (except to people that guns might have been stolen from).

  5. Yes, handguns and assault rifles should be banned. Good point.

No, I prefer a study that's well done and nuanced more than a blanket one that fails to disclose at the very least the nature of a crime and was merely used to appease the white house.

So the DOJ reports that are hundreds of pages long don't meet your criteria. Do the DOJ reports created under the Obama administration not meet your standards. Normally, for reasonable people, the actual original source of the data is the best nuanced report -- -but feel free to take a biased "study" from an organization that strongly supports illegal immigration.

I posted a 5 page report that you often use to "back up" your claims. See, I went back and found what you said you posted many times.

Yet.... you ignore the many other DOJ and BJS information that has been provided many times. Here is a reminder - https://www.bjs.gov/index.cfm?ty=pbdetail&iid=6187

Feel free to dig through the reams of data and many reports.
