'Godless' author Coulter unknown at church she claims to attend Max Blumenthal Published: Thursday June 8, 2006 Print This | Email This Appearing on the cover of her latest manifesto, Godless: The Church of Liberalism, adorned with a wooden crucifix necklace, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter takes on liberals on explicitly religious grounds. Invoking the sectarian rhetoric of the Christian right, Coulter denounces liberalism as "the opposition party to God," and "a comprehensive belief system denying the Christian belief in man's immortal soul." Coulter fills the pages of Godless with attacks on Hollywood â a traditional Christian right boogeyman â and, quoting controversial Holocaust-denying columnist Joseph Sobran, assails public schools for teaching an "amalgam of liberalism, feminism, Darwinism, and the Playboy philosophy" rather than "Biblical truth." Coulter also calls the Episcopal Church, "barely even a church." Yet Coulter is curiously reticent in Godless about her own religious convictions. Nowhere in her book, for instance, does Coulter declare whether she belongs to a particular religious denomination, nor does she state where â or even if â she attends religious services. An April 17, 2005 article in Time Magazine by John Cloud provided a rare description of Coulter's attendance of church, as Cloud suggested that she has been a regular attendee of New York City's Redeemer Presbyterian Church, to which "she brings a lot of peopleâ¦" In his article, Cloud described accompanying Coulter to Redeemer: Not long ago, I went to church with Coulter--Redeemer Presbyterian, an evangelical congregation in Manhattan. The actor Ron Silver had also tagged along--Coulter brings lots of people to church, including, at one time, an ex who is Muslim. Pastor Timothy Keller spoke of the importance of allowing one's heart to be "melted by the sense of God's grace because of what he did on the cross for you." When contacted by Raw Story, however, Redeemer Presbyterian's Communications and Media Director Cregan Cooke could not confirm that Coulter had ever attended services at the church. "The only thing I have heard is hearsay that she is an attender" of Redeemer, Cregan told Raw Story. "Our database shows that she is not a member." Cregan added that wealthy celebrities routinely asserted a dubious connection to his congregation. "People from Robin Williams to Diane Sawyer have claimed to attend services here but don't actually know if they have. And I don't know anybody that would have seen Ann Coulter. We don't really know her."
IMO - One's frequency of warming a pew is far from what's needed for judging if 'Godless' is a relevant term for assessing one's heart. Wasn't there some biblical concept of when two people come together in worship - a church is made?
What exactly is inaccurate about her obervation that liberals have waged jihad to ban any mention of God or religion from schools, government functions, courthouses, government grounds,etc? Or that liberals have obsessively supported causes, like the radical gay agenda, that is totally inconsistent with traditional religious belief? Or that liberals have actively tried to restrict believers' First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion by subjugating that right to such liberal ideals as "tolerance" or "diversity" or "non-discrimination?" What drives liberals crazy about Ann is that she is willing to say what more timid commentators are not. She is literally speaking truth to power. Those timid conservatives, who you can read occasionally in the mainstream media, are like liberals who are happy to make the most disrepectful criticism of Christianity but are oddly silent regarding Islam due to their fear.

Tsk, tsk. I have not written one word commenting on her looks, genitals or absence thereof or sexual appetite. Only you liberals have. In fact, she seems to have mesmerized the lot of you, kind of like a vampire queen. You're probably waiting in line at a book signing right now, desperate to be close to the woman you apparently think about and long for every single minute of every day. Conservatives are able to interact with strong, intelligent women on an intellectual level, particularly if they are firing a .45 auto.

Right-wing hatemonger and purveyor of hate, Ann "Nazi Bitch" Coulter, has upchucked another one of her hateful hatemongering tomes of hate and, as expected, it is packed with her typical hate-filled rhetoric, lies, half truths, and lies. Indeed, there are so many things wrong with this book that I donât know where to begin. Letâs start, then, with the entire premise. Coulterâs ignorant assertion that liberals are âgodlessâ is beyond the pale, sagging, cottage cheese-filled angora socks she calls her breasts. In her sheer stupidity, she completely ignores the fact that it is we, the enlightened Progressives of America, who more closely adhere to the altruistic teachings of Christ. Was it not Jesus and his Mary Chain who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor? Was it not Christ himself who stood upon the Mound of Avocados and proclaimed, âMerrily I say unto you, give unto others what belongs unto someone else?â If He didnât, He should have, and Coulter would do well to remember it the next time Republicans cut taxes, stealing food from the very mouths of the poor and putting it right into the pockets of the wealthy. Even Ann, with her adamâs apple the size of a bowling ball, canât deny the truth: If Christ really did exist (rather than being something the Pope made up to ruin everyoneâs good time), Heâd most certainly be a card-carrying, Big Tent Democrat, in full agreement with the core principles of the Peopleâs Party. In her irrational hatred for all things fluffy, Coulter and her evangelical ilk have hijacked Christâs message of love and acquiescence to parasites, twisting it into a hate-filled instrument of self-righteous intolerance. Let us not forget that this is the same Ann Coulter who, in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, turned the blame away from Bush and rushed to accuse Middle Eastern Muslim males with smoking trousers, demanding we âinvade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianityâ. I doubt Christ would approve of such an attitude, or of Coulter, for that matter - even though He did have a soft spot for prostitutes. Just look at her smirking so smugly on that book jacket, as if she knows anything at all about what it means to be a true Christian. I wish sheâd get hit by a bus and dragged for 30 miles over broken glass and rusty razor blades until her entire body breaks out in festering, pus-filled sores. Well, thatâs what the government is for, isn't it? Thereâs no need in worshipping a giant invisible head in the sky when welfare checks rain down like manna from the heavens, is there? And thatâs exactly why bible-thumpers like Ann are so afraid of us. The apocalyptic dogma of a judgmental clergy holds no power over the sheeple herds when we have benevolent progressive leaders grounded by science, who will tell us we can go right on having casual sex without fear of consequences, but the atmosphere will burn off if we donât correctly sort our recyclables. Jerry Falwellâs superstitious warnings that 9/11 was God's punishment for abortion may fill the collection plate, but there is strong scientific evidence linking Bushâs tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% of Americans to the destruction of New Orleans â and it can happen again if we continue to vote with our wallets instead of our hearts. Itâs called compassion, folks, one of the core principles of both Christianity and Liberalism. Compassion obviously eludes Ann Coulter, who openly mocks Cindy Sheehan, a grieving mother who sacrificed her only begotten son so that the peace movement may live. I hope Coulter overdoses on whatever diet pills sheâs been popping and chokes to death on her own vomit, and it takes them THREE MONTHS to find her ROTTING, BLOATED CORPSE at the bottom of a ditch in Pittsburgh, and they canât even identify her STINKING REMAINS from her dental records BECAUSE CARNIVOROUS MONKEYS CARRIED OFF ALL HER SPARKLY WHITE TEETH.
