  1. Somebody should ask trump when he says Veteran, does he mean Veteran of US Armed Forces or a veteran of armed forces of enemies of US.

Mother Nature takes side in Confederate monument debate...

Hurricane Laura damaged a Lake Charles Confederate monument, after parish officials voted to keep it

Hurricane Laura damaged the controversial Confederate monument in Lake Charles, Louisiana after officials voted to keep the statue earlier this month.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury voted 10-4 Aug. 13 to let the South's Defenders Monument remain on the grounds of a courthouse in Lake Charles.

A Calcasieu Parish official said they had received 945 written responses from the public during this period.

"Of the total responses, 878 were against relocating the monument and 67 were for relocating the monument," Calcasieu Parish Administrator Bryan Beam said.

Twitter posts Thursday morning showed images of the monument with the general in pieces on the ground.

    Let's not forget Millard Fillmore...

P.S. -- someone may want to tell the council that the name "Buffalo" is a form of cultural appropriation and the city needs to change its name.

Buffalo Common Council seeks public input on names to replace Millard Fillmore
    https://www.wkbw.com/news/local-new...ard-fillmores-name-from-city-owned-properties

The Buffalo Common Council has approved of a motion to remove the name of Millard Fillmore from properties owned by the city, and is looking for your help on what name should replace them.

According to the Common Council's agenda from September 1st, the city wanted to address concerns from Buffalo residents about America's 13th president and his role in allowing slavery to exist.

This after the University at Buffalo decided to remove Fillmore's name from its campus in August.

  8. Mayor Byron Brown issued the following statement:

"I have requested that the Buffalo Arts Commission review all statues and monuments with an eye toward evaluating the legacy of the honorees and making recommendations to re-purpose any that are undesirable historical figures."

Hopefully they will not put up any statues of people who have convictions or outstanding warrants for gun crimes, assault and battery, drug dealing, or sexual assault. I know that will eliminate some of the suggestions that are currently floating around but they might want to look a little harder. I don't consider them to be "desirable historical figures."

  10. Technically wouldn't every President from Washington Lincoln fall under that same general blank category?

    This is getting stupid now...

Local school district near me is having a meeting because two schools are named after Thomas Jefferson and George Mason. I think they should have just stuck with the focus on Confederate traitors and left it at that.
