  4. which video card and digital LCD monitor combination will allow the display @ 1600x1200. Display digitally, not analog.

    Which 1600x1200 monitors are you looking at? There is a new range of dell lcds coming out soon. There 1600x1200 lcds are significantly cheaper. The matrox p650 and p750 both drive two 1600x1200 screens digitally.

    Check out Planar (Planar.com) monitors before buying anyone else's. Highly rated by CNET. They come with a three year warranty, with a FREE two-day air swap-out if something goes wrong. I just bought the PX191 on Ebay. This is their upper end 19", with a 700:1 contrast ratio and 300 cd/m2 of brightness. Their other 19" LCD's PL191M and PL 190M are probably $100 or so cheaper. 500:1 contrast ratio and 250 cd/m2 brightness.
