"I had enough money to live on for the rest of my life and that was one less thing to think about" I have thought about this very issue a lot and concluded that were I rich I would take better vacations, that would be the main thing. Better cars? I'm real happy with my $2500 car, it does .9g turns, it's great to drive, wouldn't be any happier with a Ferrari. I'm real happy with my 1300 square foot house, everybody there loves me and it's quiet on the weekends. Max
I call this guy a snob. When you are rich and play the poor I hate these kind of behavior. Give all the money to the poors and live like a real poor then he will not be playing and I won't call him a snob. A rich who plays a poor is sometimes among the worst people: example Polpot who murdered millions of people was a guy from a very rich family (he went to France and came back with communism in mind viva France the country of hosting Ayatollahs and all sort of dictators ! ) who wanted to play the poor was a mad.
money is like plutonium. very powerful, but be very careful with it. it can have unintended consequences. handy to have around though, isn't it?
Money can't buy happiness, but it sure makes one hell of a down payment - Denzel Washington. If I had 7 figures in the bank would I still trade? Yes, but primarily to financially back and teach those closest to me the trading strategies that got me those 7 figures. I'd spend most of the time with my family and treating my parents to anything they desired, set up a college fund for my coming child, make some renovations to the house, and give a heck of a lot away to friends and charity. And travel, travel, travel! Hawaii is great, but "paradise" can be found in many forms on this great earth.
Yes, flaunting your wealth is the only way to go if you are rich. How about a poor person playing the rich (via easy credit) - is that okay with you?
The poor who want to play the rich is victim of the society that incites him to behave like a rich since when you are rich you have respect even if you are an ugly guy that stole, cheat and even kill and even when it is known. And this poor guy will be crushed by his credit since for the poor the credit rates go higher and higher until he has no property. That's what is happening to the indians community for example. Most people don't look for money, in fact for power, but they are conducted to because of scarcity threat. Money is really unlimited the problem is the burden of interests. The money could be interest free then it wouldn't be so scarce and then people won't be looking after him ... and be unhappy. Unhapiness comes from unsatisfied desire. If you don't desire something you don't have you should be happy. The problem is that for some people it is not even about having more money that needed to be happy it is about having enough money just as to only survive above all for their children. And that's no more about hapiness that's about a silent economical genocide that kill today more people than any bombs. It is a crime against humanity that is not recognised yet perhaps one day. There are people in France that sleep and die in public dustbin although France is reputed to have a "social" wealthfeare mentality. This is a false wealthfare that is socialism : socialism is a fake making believe the poors that the government want to protect them whereas they use public debt with huge interests to pump public money and the poors are used only as pretext for social programs to maintain these high debts on nations. As a result there are more and more poors and the poors and war victims are becoming a great business sector to exploit ... in their names - but not for their interests of course.
its a great first step! i grew up poor - it sucked, although i never realized it so much at the time.... my kids are growing up much differently.... annual ski trips to tahoe, surf boards and wetsuits, houses paid for, vacation property, early retirement soon for dad.... ive lived both ways and ill let someone else experience poverty. regards
Money has such an erotic attraction on ladies that they try to suck the money out of your dick..... Sorry for the wording.....
Somebody posted something about some poor bastard getting his foot sawn off with a dull knife in Rwanda. I believe that shit. I used to live in Nigeria. It is one fucked up place. Their idea of Islamic law means that any woman who gets Accused of adultery gets stoned to death. Anyway, my folks brought me to the states and we were poor. Typical immigrants sleeping on the floor, shopping at Aldi (if you were ever poor, you know Aldi). But we always had enough to eat, even if we didn't see our parents much because they were working so much. We were poor but we were happy when we were together. Now my family makes low six figures and all my dad does is complain about the mortgage and how he doesn't make enough money. He bought a house too big for him and has too many toys. His only solution is more money. Now, I'm not gonna talk about nobility of poverty and all that. Truth is there were some bad times but as long as we had food and shelter, we were good. I learned about money from being poor and living well off. Being poor (as long as you aren't starving and homeless) is not the end of the world and being rich isn't a panacea. If my folks stopped spending so much they could retire in six years. Will they? Doubt it. That's the problem with America. Nobody has any perspective. Take it from an ex-third worlder. This country screws with your head. Find a number that makes you happy, get that number and be happy! There's no need to live on Ramen noodles but no need to stress about havin a lexus with 18" rims or whatever you're supposed to have. You people think you know poverty. You know those kids you see on TV running around in cheap clothes, going to bathroom on the street. The ones that make you flip the channel faster than a crackhead running from the LAPD? Been there. Done that. Get perspective. Get satisfaction. Most of you are White Americans. You've got it good from birth! P.S. I apologize for any spelling errors, grammatical errors and my excessively long post.
