I did hard labor, farming, ranching, construction and the O&G fields. Digging trenches, setting irrigation, barbwire fencing, wood cutting, ect. I prefer the boring pool and weights. Maybe that’s why the old makers of blue plum liquor live forever in Eastern Europe?
Well today is my anniversary with the missus I have to set up a platform for the musicians in the cinema and set up rented chairs etc. I hope I don't find drink glasses / orange slices dropped into the pool this time. Maybe I'll make a cover but until there are grandkids, probably nobody will drown. If you marry a Colombian you must be prepared for about fifteen+ family birthdays and such a year absolute minimum. It's a good idea to meet her on her birthday as that combines two anniversaries. You will be thankful.
Ahh Slivovitz, that's good stuff. I must try and get a bottle or two of the Japanese version.. I forget the name. Something different to have in the bar. There certainly attractions to being indoors. When I was a wildlife ranger and the weather was too hot or too wet I had talks with myself about why.. Why...WHY! was doing this again?? But I'll still say building things without power tools is less boring than the gym. The pool, well I'm part fish anyway (Amercians may not be able to understand the accent)
Well @TrailerParkTed gave me an idea, one thing we have lots of in Colombia in the Andes is plums. I'll try my hand at making some Umeshu, it seems fairly straightforward. The series mentioned in this article about life and food in Japan seems interesting as well. https://www.justonecookbook.com/plum-wine/#h-3-distilled-spirits-liquor
This is a silly take. What if one is an office worker, white collar in a very well paid job, so taking a physical job for the sake of getting in shape is not practical or economical? Then working out makes perfect sense. Now how one does it (let's say outside, hiking, kayaking, bicycling, etc. instead of in a windowless gym (like my friend does it)) that is up for debate, but your argument is nonsensical. Also there are way more office workers than physical jobs available. Jason Momoa He is an actor who literally gets paid for looking good. (not for acting chops) How many people can have such jobs? This thread is STUPID...
I'm an actor also. Stupid is as stupid does? I was at a Barbie themed party last night, my head hurts from pink drinks..I have not even seen the movie yet. The point of the thread is to highlight that instead of being unproductive and BORED at a gym, if one is a thinker/creative artist etc, one can achieve high levels of fitness through other activities while gaining valuable skills and making things worth money. If one needs to work on definition for a reason, even if it's just pure vanity, that can be done through EMS while doing the office work except for the most exacting bodybuilding with has never seemed a healthy pursuit to me given the proclivity to abuse steroids or other high strength potions for just a small remaining percent. Remember I'm 6'6" (2m), weighed 125Kg yesterday or 275 pounds of muscle so I don't need to prove anything, there are a fraction of a fraction of a percent of men who can best me and most of them are in my large, large family. I'm so imposing in person if I don't stay calm and big labrador like all tbe time, people start looking for the exit.. Sometimes hump my leg ET is where I can release some annoyance. That and pounding steel or similar. Some people just want to drink Guinness, eat normally to some excess and burn it off. Not blend shakes and pop expensive pills. I'm making the case for my various projects which I do without power tools. Maybe somebody else landscapes gardens? I'm sure if you got a top power lifter and a farm hand to dig a pool the lifter would win however most people can benefit enormously from a bit of wax-on-wax-off and still look ripped. Or at least make the ladies happy to see you in an open shirt. My approach has been to just use EMS for those hard to reach muscles sometimes and avoid the gym. The gym is a boring place to me. I don't even find classes or Pelaton interesting as I love company but prefer to be solidary working. Crazy idea but if I'm working I'm earning as Momoa said. Of course I have some weights and stuff in my home (only visitors use them, the wife likes the orbital trainer and pool is all) but I don't need them as I have a full forge. Well also a lap pool. As Momoa does, gild the lily when you have a reason to but only then is the life/work style. To me competitive bodybuilding is as peculiar as say somebody who went and had their hair trimmed three times a week to constantly look their sharpest. Just gave my fingers a workout there Not my brain.
