chiguy, That is one sweet offer! I would love to take you up on it if. If I can find some time when I make my "downtown" run... nitro
I clerked in the gold pit from 1979-1981 at the merc. $280 up to $850 and back down to $500. That was my internship. I traded the Gilt and the US T-Bond in London on the LIFFE from 1982-1988 and while the Bond was locked limit up on the Tuesday after Black Monday 1987 we rocked on LIFFE with the Bonds at one point in the day up 11 points (352 ticks). I traded the bund on LIFFE from 1991-1997 when LIFFE in 1994 was doing more volume than the CBOT. I am now in the Eurodollars after a brief stint with retirement. Until you put your money and your gut on the line this side of the Atlantic or the other side there is no better BUZZ than the pits on UNEMPLOYMENT FRIDAY. Anyone fancy a visit to the MERC you know how to find me.
ended the open outcry do to the competion with the Eurex (?) what happened to the seat prices on the liffe ? did traders get anything to reimburse them for the seats they had leased or bought ? ah ... life in the pits ... where you buy a seat ... TO STAND !!!!
