mobile solution

  1. TOS on iPad is very good for charting as long as you're ok with those durations. I would fund a small account with TOS for charting and IB for execution. IB is one of the few firms offering a DOM on iPad/tablets.

I have used TOS and IB booktrader on an iPhone 4 and it worked nicely. I Imagine it would be ideal for your application. Personally, I prefer a Mac Air running full apps, but for trading swing-trading futures it would be more than adequate.

Here's some pics from the web: http://intelligent-trading.com/2011/02/25/new-tos-ipad-app-is-sick-trading-from-the-couch-now/

I am swing trader. I use remote option for entering trades with bracket order, then I monitor trades with mobileTWS. I have no problem with the remote solution, but of course it is not as good as to sit in front of your No 1 computer.

  3. IMO, teamviewer is a much better solution that logmein if your needs are simply to place trades remotely. Teamviewer is so much quicker.

    Hey CALLumbus,

I was just having this same conversation on another thread, you can see it here if you want to follow the conversation... though admittedly this thread has had better advice. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=220647

To save you the time of reading I ultimately signed up for iRunner through Cannon Trading... it's a mobile platform offered by OEC, and I just use cannon because they have good commissions + margins.

    iRunner Mobile Futures Trading Platform

I think it hits every point you were looking for -

    - Great market access
    - Bar + candlestick charts, though I can't remember the lowest interval, you could call to check
    - I'm 90% sure you can trade from the charts

And I use it on my iPhone 4, so I'm assuming it works on the iPad too... I love it, I definitely recommend throwing it in with your other options.

    Good luck picking one!
