mo' security

  1. Just thought I'd remind everyone that unless you are in a networked office where you purposely share files and printers, be sure to uninstall File & Printer Sharing on your windows machines for extra security. (Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Network and Dialup Settings, then pick your connection that you use, click properties, and you're there). If you decide you need it, you can always reinstall it in about 30 seconds.

In the hands of a hacker, it can be used to pull files off of your machine over the net.

Also, using NTFS partitions and encrypting certain folders that contain sensitive info will help secure them from the freaks.

    This is for win2k pro.

    Love,
