As a journalist, hedge fund marketer, james randi fan and trader-- I am very very skeptical about claims, particullarly paranormal ones. With that said, I have always had interest in such activity--more from a sociological/psychological/anthropological slant than anything else. Therefore, I read the Remote Viewing website--- it's intriquing to say the least and I wonder if there isnt a smidgeon of truth there or more???....Otherwise, what an elaborate hoax! either way, its interesting content when you think of the applications.... best wishes, surf
i really have nothing against the remote viewing (although i don't know anything about it). i'm always up for learning something new and have a open mind. but the rest of the crap doug is spilling is another story.
So you really think all hedge funds have offices in NY? Really, when it comes down to it, there are basically two types of people. Some people take their tiny set of life experiences and conclude they know everything based on this tiny data set. Others understand how much richer their lives can become by learning something new everyday. Same with trading. The people who think they are so certain about what's true usually make poor traders. Of course there are some exceptions, but for the most part I've found this to be true.
Marketsurfer, in my experience listening to one of the remote viewing gurus who was a regular on the old Art Bell radio show, it is a load of crap. Major Ed Dames was the guys name and he was involved in the military/CIA project that tried to develop this baloney. He made predictions each time he was on and went out of his way to be as vague as possible and still never hit anything. Sometimes they were his predicitons, others from people he trained. At least 5 different times he was selling the idea of a "kill shot" that was going to wipe out most of the planet. I don't know about you, but I'm still here. The first few years I listened to the Art Bell show were the best, the topics beat any Sci Fi show I've ever seen. He faded towards the end and got too much into the end of the world crap. Oh well great while it lasted.
Yeah, i remember hearing art bell once or twice at 3 AM driving back from fishing or something Some of the shows were really creepy and good! Thanks for the reminder. surf
I have no idea about the RV stuff... I just figured that Patty and Dave are from California.... lol. I never talked much about RV with Patty. I read Dave's book and found it interesting. I've made it a point to not be judgmental about other people. For all I know maybe the whole RV program was just a psyop to make the Russian believe we could RV them.... who knows...lol... and who cares??? It has nothing to do with the trading offer... I've known Patty for ten years and all I can tell you is she helped me become successful. Everybody takes a different path, and mine included Patty helping me overcome self-inflicted obstacles as well as external obstacles. From what I can tell by reading the threads here, there are plenty of people who struggle with the emotional side of trading. This is an area that Patty owns. I've also taken on the belief that I can learn something from everybody. Maybe I'm just not as wise or smart as all the successful people here on ET that seem to know so much about everything. Doug
Maybe you could share some of those trading results with us seeing as you have less than zero credibility at the moment.
What specifically do you think is crap? It's really very simple. I have money to invest. I don't want to put it into another hedge fund where there's no transparency. I'm interested in finding undiscovered traders who might be able to trade the money in a managed account. If I do find a trader or two, I'm going to make available Patty to give them 1-on-1 coaching if it makes sense. And once I started seeing the answers to the questions people filled out, it became apparent that a lot of people would be interested, and would benefit, from some basic coaching from Patty. Keep in mind that Patty's a master trainer for Tony Robbins so she really doesn't need to be trolling around here in ET looking for work. I'm not selling anything, and Patty isn't either. She's already booked solid with clients, and only offered to help because I asked her and because we're friends. I've asked for nothing from anybody here, and I've offered to add value to other people. This is more than I can say for the small group of "naysayers" who are terrified that what I'm offering is legitimate, and that other traders will be chosen and will succeed. My guess is that the most vocal critics of what I'm doing are probably the people who, if forced to show their track record, would be exposed as poor traders. I can also tell you that from the hundreds of PMs I've received, and from all the people who answered the questionnaire, the LARGE majority of people here on ET are genuinely good people. They are the silent majority that doesn't need to anonymously slam people on internet forums to feel better about themselves. They are the people with the courage to step up and throw their hat in the ring. And ultimately it will from this group that successful traders may be found.
3 weeks on and 90 posts later you're still banging out the same well-worn phrases. So far it's all been talk and no action, and certainly nothing tangible to show you're anything more than just another failed wannabe out to fleece the gullible in some way. It's wearing a bit thin now, you're going to have to come up with a new line pretty soon otherwise you're in danger of losing your audience. You could start by answering some of the direct questions people have asked, or would that be too awkward?
