Mitt Romney Tax Returns Released: Paid Just 13.9% Rate In 2010, Had Swiss Bank Accoun

  1. Since your entire argument seems to stem from this assertion, I figured it best to isolate it and explore it. I do not agree that pandering to voters is a requirement for any politician at any level. It may be the low road that many take, but it is incumbent upon the voters to hold them to task when they do. Otherwise, we are rewarding this dishonest behavior and ensuring it continues. I think we can all see where that has gotten us as a nation.

Many politicians pander because they are of low morale character, and would basically say anything to further their careers. For many it works just fine. However, that does not make pandering a requirement any more than it is a requirement to cycle steroids in order to play in the NFL. There are examples of honest politicians at the national level who do not pander and have been successful in getting elected and re elected.

Mitt Romney's pandering is legendary, and this is why I am having such a tough time with your belief that he is trustworthy. You seem to want to give him a pass for it because you believe it's just the way things are. I am going to disagree and say it is the way we have allowed things to be, and until we the people show these soulless self promoters there are consequences to this kind of dishonesty, we will continue to elect leaders who are anything but.

Oh yeah, and one more thing:

"'I believe in an America where millions of Americans believe in an America that’s the America millions of Americans believe in. That’s the America I love.' Mitt Romney

Maybe one these Mittens fans can tell us where he stands today (Tuesday, January 24-2012) on the abortion issue.
I was busy watching all this market chop today and haven't had much time for the news.
Last I heard he was pro life.

Not in a state or district where the vast majority of constituents belong to the opposing party. If so I would like an example.

It is easy for a republican governor in Idaho to say that he never panders for votes. Just as it is easy for a democrat in Massachusetts. Ironically, every example that I can think of right off who ran on the idea that he is a straight shooter who stands for what he believes, has had a huge amount of personal "flexibility".

    Think Herman Cain

I should point out that the following issues don't matter at all to me, as I believe they have almost zero effect on the lives of average people, and also little effect on the way a person would govern.

    1) Whether someone is an NRA member and avid hunter. Couldn't care less.

    2) Don't ask Don't tell. Don't Care

    3) Favorite Book.

These are a few things that Mitt is accused of changing opinion on. Once those are eliminated, the list gets shorter and starts to reflect the things I care about, at least a little bit.

Yes, but not nearly to the extent that his opponents make him out to be.
