I'm throwing in the towel on this one. This is one mistake I'm just no longer willing to tolerate. It usually starts out trying to buy the bid or sell the ask. Then I try to chase, always one tick behind the market. Next thing you know, I am trying to get in where I would have been getting out. This has got to stop here now, once and for all. It's not so much about what order to use to enter, it's more about valuing the importance of the move, recognizing it, and being in on it.
That's one of the conclusions I reached some months ago. Now I just decide what price I'm willing to pay, place a stoplimit order there, and relax. --Db
