It is unlikely a CEO is chosen based on mere merit. Thus the reward is mostly not justified. CEO position is usally based on who you know. It's basically a Ponzi scheme, like royalty.
When we compare companies success and CEO pay ratio the US is astronomically out of touch with the rest of the world. Some European and Japanese companies have performed much better and their CEO just make a fraction of what ours make.

nobody owes you anything in this world. if we go by your point of view. well its ok if someone put a bullet in your head, takes your cash, and drives off in your porsche because there are a limited amount of people who can do that job. people like to forget basic order goes away when people can't buy food or pay rent.
