Who are you talking to? Right/wrong, there is no such thing in politics, only opinion and interpretation. And speak to me. Or if your comment is directed at someone else, pay them the etiquette of addressing who it is your speaking to. This is all part of that adult dialogue thing Ricter. How old are you again?

The 89% Pay Cut That Brought Trump-Mania to America's Heartland

"...Just as the Williamses were being informed by A.O. Smith that they’d be let go, a young Mexican woman named Zoraida Gonzalez was hired some 1,200 miles away in the hardscrabble town of Acuna, just over the Rio Grande from Texas. To replace its Kentucky output, A.O. Smith was ramping up production in lower-cost Mexico, a move facilitated by the signing a decade earlier of the North American Free Trade Agreement. Gonzalez was brought in to help handle phone calls.

Now 30 years old and in charge of payroll, she makes about $1.75 an hour, on par with wages earned on the plant’s assembly line. It may not seem like much by U.S. standards. (Or, for that matter, to some of the workers toiling in the heat of Acuna’s factories.) To Gonzalez, though, the money has been life-changing. It’s given her things she says her mother never had: a washing machine, cable TV, a Ford Freestar minivan that she shares with her boyfriend, daily zumba classes at a nearby gym and the hope that her 11-year-old son, Angel, will be the first member of her family to attend college.

Gonzalez doesn’t know much about Nafta and she knows even less about Donald Trump or the way he blames U.S. trade deficits with Mexico and China for the loss of jobs in America. But Williams sure does. He voted for the billionaire in Kentucky’s Republican caucus this month. So did many of his neighbors. In Allen County, a collection of eight towns strewn along the Tennessee border, Trump dominated his rivals, racking up 42 percent of the vote on his way to a narrow victory that night in Kentucky..."

  7. This is the reality of the "global wage arbitrage"...In order to maintain any semblance of profit margins, companies are always going to find the lowest cost form of production...

This is nothing new...what is new to me are guys such as yourself, Ricter and Piezoe who run around here clamoring for the $15 min wage with nary a clue as to what this will do to many businesses (those who decide to stick around) and/or the employees...Guess what: businesses will reduce headcount drastically when forced to pay double...Within a few years those employees will be gone as well with full automation...

So congratulations to you and your ilk...you've figured out how to run every single economy into the ground.

Global first? Every Swiss could be guaranteed $2,600 a month tax-free

"Chalk it up to Swiss affluence. Voters here will decide next month whether all 8 million citizens and legal residents should be guaranteed a generous monthly income, something no country in the world has ever done.

On June 5, Swiss voters will weigh in on a radical proposal that would mandate the government to guarantee $2,600 a month tax-free to every adult citizen and legal resident, and $650 to each child.

The payment would be provided to everyone, regardless of work status, income level, or wealth. It is a benefit few countries can afford. But then, Switzerland is among the world's richest nations, with a per capita income of about $85,000, 40% higher than that in the USA...."
