Minimum Scalp Expectation for TF

Discussion in 'Index Futures' started by Dstarsfan555, Nov 2, 2010.

  1. Greetings all,

I have a quick question on minimum moves in the TF, CL and QM to be considered a successful scalp.

As an example, in the ES a valid signal is deemed to have failed if the trade is triggered and the market does not yield a net 4 tick ($50) scalp.

Does anyone know if there is a universally accepted minimum scalp targets for the TF, CL or QM.

I trade 5 minute bar charts if that is applicable.

I've posted this in the index and energy futures sections as it's applicable to both.

    Many thanks,

    DSF

  4. Are you referring to the four ticks as the minimum where you need to make money before commission? (and maybe slippage)... 4 ticks is allot, should be 2 or 3 IMO.
