Greetings all, I have a quick question on minimum moves in the TF, CL and QM to be considered a successful scalp. As an example, in the ES a valid signal is deemed to have failed if the trade is triggered and the market does not yield a net 4 tick ($50) scalp. Does anyone know if there is a universally accepted minimum scalp targets for the TF, CL or QM. I trade 5 minute bar charts if that is applicable. I've posted this in the index and energy futures sections as it's applicable to both. Many thanks, DSF
I trade russell 3 to 1 risk/reward only with 8 tick stop and 24 tick first target from what I learned trading scalp momentum trades. I trade CL and 6E with same method I learned and this works for me with good trade plan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLxjm-mEzI8&feature=related
Are you referring to the four ticks as the minimum where you need to make money before commission? (and maybe slippage)... 4 ticks is allot, should be 2 or 3 IMO.
