Degrees of homocide speak directly to intent, responsibility, metal capacity, as you point out. That is the difficulty of trying a child as an adult. It abolishes these distinctions so evident in children. However, there is a world of preventive measures short of the gallows and exclusive of being released wholsesale and immediately. (WHile I would not want to risk it, I never heard of a case of a 9 year old whacking someone, getting arrested, released, and killing again, have you?)
ooh killer point that i'd never heard before. i think the distinction here is between incarceration and execution. presumably even a 5 year old who kills someone is going to be sent to a juvenile correctional institution and not released until he is no longer behaving like a ticking time bomb -- i mean, that's the whole point of the "correctional" system, isn't it? to rehabilitate? all of these debates would go away, and taxes would be lower if the death penalty was, to quote popular television drama, "taken off the table" altogether.
Everyone should be held accountable for their actions. How can we let people of ANY age literally "get away with murder" just because they are nine years old? Look, this is a serious thing. I believe it was just today that I heard that some kid in Florida was (or is about to be) freed after just three years of a life sentence. Hell, he killed another child and only gets three years and then is cut loose? This is his seventeenth birthday present? What a joke!!! The day I turned 17, you think I got excused for MY misbehavior? Not a chance in hell! I'll tell you what I got for my seventeenth birthday. I was caught masturbating that day, and I got PUNISHED! I am a better man for it today! That's right! I was forced to take a poison pill! That was my first Oxycontin pill. And my parent's "tough love" paid off. I NEVER masturbated again. I got what I deserved, and learned a lesson I will never forget! We are a soft society. I say fry 'em all! A two year old is playing with his or her newborn baby brother or sister and smothers the infant with a pillow? Don't try and convince me this child is not an evil human being that doesn't deserve the death sentence. Just because he or she is just two, and just because it appears to be an unfortunate accident, don't be duped! This is just MURDER! Just like abortion is MURDER! If a two year old causes the death of another human being, don't be fooled. This is a clear case of murder #1. And if we don't execute this two year old, he or she will certainly go on to kill again. So we MUST nip this kind of behavior in the bud. Accountability is what it's about. Do the crime, do the time. Or walk the Green Mile. Even if it's in a stroller. And I'll tell you another thing. Show me a two year old that uses his or her age as a smokescreen to try and get over on us thinking we will have compassion and let it slide, and I will show you not only a serial murderer taking baby steps towards a future of maniacal homicidal behavior and worse, I will show you a damn liberal hiding behind those chubby little cheeks. And you know what else? A very solid link established by MY OWN STUDIES PROVES that 99+ percent of these little murderers are the offspring of parents who voted for Clinton. Seriously! I kid you not! I'll tell you something. If we are to ever have a free and decent America the way it should be, we would have the polling machines themselves set up to electrocute anyone who votes for these anti-American traitors who don't support our President, the great George W. Bush. You can be sure if someone votes for a non Limbaugh approved candidate, they are just going to go about their business of undermining our great country. So why take chances? We can eliminate this threat toot sweet with some proper polling machine programming and a little electrical wiring. And praise God, we have the technology. We even have my friend Mr. Diebold on board. He makes the machines. My solution to the Damn Liberal problem is a winner. Don't kid yourselves. We don't have forever. So why put off the inevitable? Let's purify our country right now. What more patriotic act is possible than eliminating a good portion of our enemies right on election day? How fitting would that be? Look, I am not saying all murders are bad. Killing in the name of America is a whole different matter. But in my example, what POSSIBLE act of patriotism can there be in a two year old killing an infant sibling? Look, we can drop bombs on Iraq. We can drop bombs on Afghanistan. We should be dropping bombs on any place that is a threat to our American way of life. Our pure ideals. Hell, we should probably just bomb New York and San Francisco. I'll tell you why too. You know how many electoral votes NY, and CA have? Bring them into the fold, and we won't have to sweat Florida anymore. Sure there will be collateral damage. But don't kid yourselves. This is WAR. Look what we were subjected to in 2000 because of the corrupt Democrat voting commissioner LaPone or whatever the hell her name is down in Palm Beach County. Thank God for Kathleen Harris and Clarence Thomas. They made things right! But they never should have been subjected to the kind of pressure they were. They did NOT sign on to protect us all from the Pink Menace. WE THE PEOPLE need to take care of business. Again, it's all about ACCOUNTABILITY! Hold the two year old accountable for murder, and that will send the message to all other two year olds. THIS is a step in the right direction! And as for us adults? We too need to be accountable. Every one of us! It is UP TO US! WE must do our part to stamp out the threats all around us. Show me a two year old that is permitted to escape justice, and I will show you a little menace that will grow up to take our good God fearing lives by murder, take our money in the form of entitlements, take our freedom by being soft on terrorists, take our decency by voting for guys like Clinton, and just generally ruin what America can and should be. Look, we need to eliminate these people. It may seem harsh to some of you to accept that we MUST put these two year old criminals to death. But you know what? We know what they will grow up to be. So we need to think PREEMPTION! Just like our invasion of Iraq. So what if they had no WMDs? Big deal. They would have sooner or later. And we would have had to deal with that eventually. So we had the chance, and we took it. Same goes with baby criminals. Why wait for them to develop into adult criminals? We know what these kids are really thinking. Nothing sickens me more than a two year old who uses his or her age to get away with crimes and their typically left wing socialistic attitudes that go hand in hand with murder. I say I miss the days of yore when you fought with your hands like a real man and if you got you ass kicked, you skipped a day or two at school to save your pride......These kids today are all watching these movies and videos and fight with weapons...tragic
Gotta believe Gordo missed a lot of school for that reason ....but I really believe that somewhere along the lines kids ( 16 and younger) have become much moor violent.....even in terms of a fistfight for that matter....when I was in school shoving led to one MAYBE two punches and then a wrestling match...today you hear about 14 year olds kicking somebody in the ribs until they have internal bleeding...I remember once punching a guy on a school bus and being terrified of the ramifications of what was going to happen at school!!! ( i was suspended 3 days)...ONE lousy punch and I got in the most trouble because the other guy was wrestling me but i "escalated' the confrontation, but that was a big deal at the time........ is it TV? Movies? videos?? seems to me like every aspect is much more violent
