Mike, I found that on my shorts, IF the close is above my stop then I get out on the close. And for my longs, if the close is below my stop loss, I wait till the first hour the following day to exit. This sure has made a difference in the bottom line, especially because of days like today - with market reversals. Patrick
makes sense.. but i always am scaling around my positions.. when ever I am wrong I always lighten up.. its a good habit. I know I am never gonna be right all the time.. but I am very strict cutting my losses down.. or atleast trying to eliminate exposure.
TIF is my only EOD orderly pullback setup. stock is outperforming the market the past few months.. there are rumors of takeover. Technically the stock broke out of nice long base.. is trading above the 50 and 200ma's and the SMA's also just crossed. Buystop 200 TIF at 33.60. If the stock closes strong tomorrow and gives us a profit I will add another 100 at the close.
