Maybe because Google does not respect your privacy and collects all data they can catch from you? I never use Google products if I can find an alternative.

When Google is blocked it makes sense to use Bing. Baidu, the chinese search engine, is useless when one use western characters. In China now and Bing seems to be working , although i noticed a few times searches from the Bing app wouldn't go anywhere, but when bing.com is typed in the browser it works.

I think people blocking other people reduces the level of useful discourse on a forum, which brings me to another salient point I just thought of...

Everyone is going on and on about search engines...Bing, GOOG, etc.

If everyone was so concerned about their "data privacy", why don't they just go to their local library and research the subject though books? Libraries still exist! They existed before phones, and basically any civilization since Alexandria, and they will survive just as many years into the future past the darn phones/interwebs.

Folks, go to your local library! Check out what books are! They still exist! Hehe. Dewey decimal system is your search engine! *sighs*

I can't speak for Bing but plenty of people use Google in China. They just use VPNs.

And btw if you're in HK it wouldn't be censored anyway; there is very little censoring in Hong Kong.
