I hope he will not. Gates has moved on to much more important things, like trying to solve some of the world's biggest problems in terms of human suffering. He is much more useful to mankind doing his foundation work.
The lack of the big feature with the little name doomed this device from launch: App Store. There's a lot of bitching about the App Store review process, but you can't deny that it is filled with G-rated material. Less than a handful of inappropriate apps have slipped through, and they are quickly purged. Like Disney, it's a sanitary experience. Parents don't have to worry about their teens downloading porn or violence or anything X-rated. Also like Disney, it might be crap, but it's clean crap. Grandparents ask their grandkids what they want for Xmas, "a gift card for the App Store!". They have no clue, so they ask the parents "if I send you $20 can you get that app store card thing whatever for little Jake?" It's a no brainer, pick one up in the checkout line at Target / Safeway / Walmart. Here is a truism: from this point forward, there will be no successful phone without an "App Store" behind it.
