According to TWS, MHNG commission is $1.47. Multiplier is 1,000. QG is only $1.37. Multiplier is 2,500. NG is $2.37. Multiplier is 10,000. MHNG is expensive to trade.
All the micros are expensive to trade compared to their mini/full-size parent. Even MGC which has been around for ages.
I see that Micro Nat Gas futures volume has fallen since the initial rush. Front month Micro traded 1,174 contracts on 11/20 while the Mini did 8,761. I added the Micro into my system alongside the Mini and the full-sized contracts. Since then, my system has traded the Mini and the full, but not the Micro. The relatively high cost of the Micro is the main reason. The Micros might make sense for someone with very limited capital, but the Minis are only 2.5x the size and have lower commission, so I doubt the Micros will see much action unless the commissions on the Micros are lowered.
yesterday's volume NG - 150k mini NG - 5k micro NG - 2k hmmm. micros are simply not popular. Anyway, this winter must be very warm. NG price has dropped from 3.6 to 2.5, ie, a 37% drop in just a month.
NG just keeps dropping! Do you think those using NG to heat their houses will see a 1/3 discount on their monthly billl? Nahhhhh. .
That's awesome news! Your suggestion paid off big time with the Micro Natural Gas futures. Exciting times ahead with those options, too! I can't wait to see how it unfolds with my oil and gas investing here. Thanks for sharing the scoop!
This winter must be very cold. Yesterday NG day range was 17%. What an excellent day range The day range has been increasing since 4 Jan 2024 and that is good news.
