You see...as you increase exposure in the Micro's that brings you closer to the ES. Scaling such as volpri explains is made possible with smaller balances and micros...I get it... This was brilliant what the CME has done. Look at the increase in Revenue and the trade possibilites that have been opened up. Es
LOL, I have only made about $230 so far in three weeks trading micros. I can easily do that in just one (good) trade trading the regular NQ. So it emotionally FEELS like I am just spinning my wheels. But mentally and logically I know that I am laying a foundation here of solid discipline and scalability with truly unlimited potential. I am averaging 1.5% per trading day now and my chart is looking awesome. And I have all of you on this thread to help me stay on track.
no need to get defensive...my post is more of a validation for me... carry on. We are all on your side at least I am. You seem to handle pressure well. Just keep trading and hopefully sharing. Es
I did not intend to sound defensive at all. I really liked your comment. I was just laughing at my own emotional response to my progress-- having spent so much time for so little money. I truly appreciate all your input.
I am practicing as we post and the MNQ is gaining some points on my long entry. But I got out in the beginning bagging only two of the points. I seem to have exited early. It gets erratic near the RTH open. I quickly get on the right side. But frequently sit on my hands during this time (losing revenue). Jack Hershey an oldtime poster here explained how to be "always in' the market...wow. wash trades and such. Art! Es
Here is the current progress after yesterday's trades off the bottom. I have to stay focused and prudent and remember that preservation of capital is 10x more important than new profits. I mentioned that all of you are helping me. I mean this. In addition to your great ideas, simply knowing that I have to face you guys at least once a week to report back keeps me from taking on too much risk - or revenge trading - or not watching out for news releases - or engaging in a host of other account-destroying behaviors. Thanks. sstheo
Though it is only 15 days these are impressive results sstheo. If your strategy is not based on some martingale system (they usually have a high win rate but 1 bad day wipes out the good days) it looks like you will grow your capital fast and steady.
Here is a compounding spreadsheet to help with calibration of the number of contracts. It can be adjusted (# of contracts) as you go to know when you have done your job if you simply want to achieve a goal. Understandably, in can be argued that a system(s) should just be traded as it should take what the market is willing to give. I personally do not have the stamina to sit for more than a couple of hours at a time...so I must take a break. My system(s) offers me the ability to start and stop as many times as I wish during a 24 hour session (however volatilty with range is nice). Es
Thanks. I have made $228 in 15 trading days starting with $1006. That is about 20% per month or 240% per year. I hope to at least continue at this pace. I am not using any martingale strategies. But the tarriff and tweet market is so volatile that I have to be super careful on everything I do. Rarely do I sit out on any trading days, but you can see I have done that a few times already - waiting for better trading conditions.
