Although not yet in stores, the white, capped sleeved number by J. Mendel lists for $6,800.

Sorry, but if she bought it with money her and her Husband made (not taxpayer $$) then who cares? It's her money and she should be able to do what she wants with it.

What do you expect the first lady to go to the Olympics in? Cut off jeans and a flower shirt?

 

My girlfriend often receives free stuff from top designers as a way of promoting their wares..

 

These are the same people who were all over Sarah Palin saying she spent too much on clothes.

Michelle Obama is the same woman, who made a 'surprise' visit to Target to go shopping. During this 'surprise' visit to Target that she didnt want anyone to know about, there just happened to be a photographer from the AP, who just happened to have his camera with him, who just happened to manage to snap a few pictures. The media went on to gush about how frugal she was. Remember this story

"First Lady Michelle Obama was spotted this afternoon on a recession-friendly shopping trip at the Target in Alexandria, Va. A casually dressed Mrs. Obama was snapped by Associated Press photographers wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses pushing her cart and carrying shopping bags.

While the White House does not provide details about the First Lady’s personal activities, “It is not uncommon for the First Lady to slip out to run an errand, eat at a local restaurant or otherwise enjoy the city outside the White House gates,” her Communications Director Kristina Schake said.

According to the Associated Press, plain clothes Secret Service agents arrived at the store about half an hour before Mrs. Obama, who then spent roughly 30 minutes shopping. The only person to recognize the First Lady was the cashier who rang up her purchases.

In the 2008 campaign Michelle Obama proudly admitted she shopped at Target – “I’m more of a Target shopper” - and held it up as an example of how she relates to voters. She has also been known to be a fan of the discount store’s clothing. While on vacation in 2009, she was seen wearing a dress from Target.

While the First Lady clearly has an affinity for Target, she also has a professional relationship with its chief rival Walmart. In January Mrs. Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign partnered with Walmart when the company announced plans to make healthier food choices more affordable and to lower salts, fats and sugars in thousands of its product. Target has announced no such plans. "

 

People actually believed that Queen Michele slipped out of the WH to go over to Alexandria to target? Do you have any freakin' idea what kind of motorcade accompanies her? Seven or eight SS vehicles, armored limo, police outriders and a couple of choppers overhead. Maybe they drop her off at the corner?

I couldnt care less what she wants to wear, but ift would be nice if the media played by the same standards, and actually called her out when they are calling Anne Romney tone deaf for wearing a shirt which costs 1/7th the amount of money.... either that or drop the shit altogether.....

 

Pretty damn dumb, even dumb enough to vote for them and that's saying something.

 

The fact of the matter as obama explained to us ("you didn't build that") it's not his money.

A case can be made that everything he has has been given to him either through taxpayers or political cronies.
