Lets try this again The south voted against the civil rights act The south succeeded The KKK was a southern group First KKK "The first Klan was founded in 1865 in Pulaski, Tennessee, as a terrorist organization[7] by veterans of the Confederate Army.[12] They named it after the Greek word 'kuklos", which means circle. The name means "Circle of Brothers."[13] Although there was no organizational structure above the local level, similar groups arose across the South, adopting the name and methods.[citation needed] Klan groups spread throughout the South as an insurgent movement during the Reconstruction era in the United States" Second KKK In 1915, the second Klan was founded and remained a small organization in Georgia. Third KKK The "Ku Klux Klan" name was used by many independent local groups opposing the Civil Rights Movement and desegregation, especially in the 1950s and 1960s. During this period, they often forged alliances with Southern police departments, as in Birmingham, Alabama; or with governor's offices, as with George Wallace of Alabama. What party represents the south now ?
That's strike 3, LOL!! Indeed, all they had in common, besides being overwhelmingly white, southern, and Democratic, was that they called themselves, or were called, Klansmen. Historian Eric Foner observed: In effect, the Klan was a military force serving the interests of the Democratic party The KKK made people vote Democratic and gave them certificates of the fact. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ku_Klux_Klan Ouch AK, what a trainwreck you're having tonight. Of course, the republicans represent the south NOW, but then, in the day of the KKK, the democrats did. Now that the democrats no longer represent the south, of course the Klan no longer does either. It's not complicated. The Klan thrived in the south BECAUSE the south was democrat. The Klan no longer thrives in the South BECAUSE the south is republican. Of course I'm sure you know how the modern KKK has spoken out against republicans, and specifically the tea party, right? LOL!! Ku Klux Klan Says It Doesn't Condone Tea Party http://www.good.is/post/ku-klux-klan-says-it-doesn-t-condone-tea-party-or-koran-burning/ It's too bad that your partisan brainwashing keeps you so far out of touch with reality.
I really hope you aren't this stupid, but my guess is you are The south succeeded, the KKK was a southern group. What party currently represents the south ?
The opposite party of the KKK, and the opposite party which led the secession represents the south. Hence it's no mystery why the KKK has all but disappeared, the south is no longer democrat. However, the democrats have stayed true to their use of race baiting for political power. Some things never change...
What part about the KKK not supporting the Tea Party or the Republicans did you not understand? Did you not read the article? Do you think the majority of the people in the South are part of the KKK? it is probably a tiny minority of the south (less than 1%) that supports the KKK. The south was probably won by the republicans, because the racist democrats in the kkk and racist dems in the south would not show up to vote for Obama.
Take note of The KKK's political position http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ku_Klux_Klan#Contemporary_Klan:_1970s.E2.80.93present
Take note of wikipedia's well known leftist bias. http://www.conservapedia.com/Examples_of_Bias_in_Wikipedia http://newsbusters.org/node/5043 KKK were democrats, period. KKK waned into insignificance once the south became republican, period.
