From your link: public figures could win a libel suit only if they could demonstrate the publisher's "knowledge that the information was false" or that the information was published "with reckless disregard of whether it was false or not. I'm sure Mr. Avenatti would be considered a public figure and his claiming that comments are false do not quite meet the standard of the publisher knowing the information was false. He's just starting to feel the heat. And I do mean just starting.
Most likely Avenetti will create a go fund me page to raise money for the defamation suits too. Good money in bilking the public like that. Sort of a poor man's Clinton Foundation. The dems might want to find some issue other than Stormy and the Creepy Porn Lawyer as their superheroes.
Bad day for Avenetti. I guess his recovery plan is to get huge payday from Trump. Let me know how that works out. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/22/fir...with-10-mln-judgment-in-bankruptcy-court.html
Crook confirmation? Not a good week at all for Avenatti - $10M Judgement plus a great deal of tax problems. http://www.post-gazette.com/news/na...th-a-10-million-judgment/stories/201805220188
AVENATTI MUST END 'PUBLICITY TOUR' TO TAKE PART IN MICHAEL COHEN'S FEDERAL CASE, JUDGE SAYS http://www.newsweek.com/avenatti-publicity-judge-cohen-949936 Michael Avenatti Withdraws Bid To Appear Before Judge in Cohen Probe Stormy Daniels’s attorney pulls back motion to participate in proceedings centered on Trump lawyer Michael Cohen https://www.wsj.com/articles/michae...appear-before-judge-in-cohen-probe-1527703364
It would appear that having Avenatti "guest host" didn't help CNN's ratings - their prime time ratings are down 25% for May.
