re: rTharp Regarding, "Trade your way to Financial Freedom", I'll take a look at it. How was the Expo? Thanks, MGB
re expo Well other than Baron and Turok never called me??? what happened guys? It went pretty well. I met with Tim (the founder)about getting a booth and a few of the speakers suggested that I become one of the speakers there. I was amazed by how many people I know and who knew me. A few guys from Daytraders USA said my last talk is rated in the top 5 talks given there which was heartwarming to hear. It was really small though. I couldn't get over the lack of promotional models there. (gee 95% men and almost no women...) I made a few good contacts. Wish I could say I really learned a lot but can't. I spent time at EVERY booth for at least 30 minutes each. Some of the presenters aren't too bad though. Can't say much about the Bright Brothers speech though. 45 minutes of a bio and than another 45 minutes of how professional traders such as Bright are the only way to go. .............Please I'm a professional trader but I have plenty of friends who aren't and do quite well. I really wanted to hear about tape reading, or something else (LIKE IT SAID ON THE PAPERWORK WHEN I SIGNED UP FOR THEM.....I AM NOT INTERESTED IN A SALES PITCH) hey at least they didn't bad mouth Echo or any other firms as I wouldn't have been able to shut up. nice change of pace though. I guess I'll be going to New York in Feburary for the next one. rtharp
MGB, I don't want to beat a dead horse so I'll post no more on this matter. I wasn't suggesting *I* or any other relevant parties here are "geniuses". Only that knowledge comes in all sizes and shapes. Sometimes we like the package, and sometimes we don't. But it's the info you're after, ignore how it's wrapped. No more comments from me on this one. tradeRx
>Well other than Baron and Turok >never called me??? Due to a hang gliding accident in the family (non life threatening) I was unable to make it. My apologies JB
Monday, August 30, 2001 +700 Solid day all around. I traded 300, 600 or 900 shares depending on the situation. Made all my profits before 11am. All trades went in the direction as expected, except for one trade which I got out of quickly. I'm noticing a pattern. If my first trade is successful then I tend to have a solid day. If my first trade is not successful, sometimes I can make up for it and sometimes not. This is something I need to watch for. I'm not going to overthink this. Tomorrow, Tuesday, is another trading day with the upcoming Fed decision. I intend to do all my trades before 2pm EST then sit out of the game. MGB
MGB, about the Fed meeting tommorrow; there was an article at Tradingmarkets.com a while back about getting the direction right after a fed meeting. I think it went something like the 3rd wave is right 90% of the time. That is if the market goes up in response... then corrects... bottoms and starts to climb ... go long. If it goes down... climbs back up and stalls... short it. Just an FYI. Good luck!
Nice safe come back strategy MGB. Congrats on the nice winning day. Play it conservative and you'll get it back in time. JB

Tuesday, August 19, 2001 +384 A nice simple day. I made all the profits before 11am trading 300 and 600 shares. I stayed out of playing the Fed decision. I didn't want to take any chances. MGB
