  1. Well as pointed above, the deal U.S. reached with Mexico is as useless as shitty toilet paper filled with empty promises. Where is your criticism of this do nothing accord and idiotic treaty haha.

Signed onto the Trans-Pacific partnership for starters. You know, the treaty that weakened China, and the one the WH is so desperately trying to jump on board again after scrapping it because "black man" bad?

But enough deflection, this is a thread about Mexican tariffs.

I would call this a half victory. We wanted Mexico to become a safe third country where asylum seekers would have to apply for asylum upon stepping foot on Mexican soil. That didn't happen.

We may not have gotten everything we wanted, but we're definitely better off today than when the threats of tariffs were made. Hopefully Mexico will follow through on their promises. I don't want to go through this again in a few months.

well, at least there's something "on paper". I don't agree in scrapping our refugee laws without going through congress, and I still think all this is going to do is displace the established coyotes and pass the buck to the law enforcement officers down there. Latin Americans simply don't see illegal immigration as a major lawbreaking problem (they have way bigger problems than that), so if the notoriously corrupt cops can make a buck by taking a bribe from central Americans, they'll likely do that.

  7. Mexico Agreed to Take Border Actions Months Before Trump Announced Tariff Deal

President Donald Trump was roasted online after The New York Times revealed that Mexico had already agreed to most of their concessions — before the president even launched his trade war.

“The deal to avert tariffs that President Trump announced with great fanfare on Friday night consists largely of actions that Mexico had already promised to take in prior discussions with the United States over the past several months, according to officials from both countries who are familiar with the negotiations,” The Times reported.

Yup, and it was kept quiet for months and the Mexico President just went along with Trump threatening tariffs.

You guys are so blinded by your TDS.

Trump Touts New Farm Trade Pact In Deal With Mexico That Doesn’t Seem To Exist
There’s no mention of it in State Department declaration, and Mexican officials told Bloomberg News they were not aware of it.

President Donald Trump crowed on Twitter Saturday that a new deal with Mexico that focused on immigration issues includes an agreement by the U.S. neighbor to “immediately” begin buying “large quantities” of U.S. farm products ― a claim that has spurred skepticism.

There’s not a word about such an agricultural deal in the “joint declaration” on the overall agreement issued by the State Department and Mexico. Three Mexican officials with knowledge of the deliberations also told Bloomberg News that they were unaware of any such agreement.

The issue was not raised during negotiations, the officials told Bloomberg.

Bloomberg reported that there was no indication buyers in Mexico were searching elsewhere for other suppliers to stop trading with American farmers.

Bloomberg also noted that Mexico has no “state-owned” conglomerate that could quickly buy up vast new stores of U.S. agricultural products, the scenario that Trump seemed to be envisioning. Sales would depend on buyer demand, just as it has all along.

Trump’s tweet Friday stumped followers on Twitter, who were confused that talks with Mexico suddenly seemed to revolve around farm products instead of efforts to stem immigration to the U.S.

American farmers have been among the hardest hit in Trump’s trade war with China.
