It's funny. People always tell me Toronto is the Canadian Chicago. The whole skyline and the lake and the downtown condos. I hear Montreal is a lot nicer. Maybe you should learn French.

Ya, my buddy says montrealers are a peaceful folk haha Whenever I visit him out there, it's a good time. If I move back into Toronto, it'd have to be a nice area (rich and white). Otherwise, I'm happy in the burbs. So u must live on the south-side?

Oh good Lord no. My stare is not that effective. LOL. I'm on the north side in one of the most highly concentrated liberal areas of the country. In other words, it's damn near 100% white. LOL. Not much crime in my neck of the woods. Not much diversity either.

haha ya, when I lived down in Phoenix, I missed the cornucopia of Toronto. But now, I prefer the company of white people. I want to marry a white woman, and it's nice to be able to go out and chat with fluent english speakers that actually reciprocate interest in having a conversation. I find minorities are more inclined to keep to themselves or be rather abrupt with me. Whether it's a culture barrier, or I'm evil whitey, i have no idea. But it's gotten real old and I just want to live life and not worry about other peoples hangups. I think it comes down to class, not race, as contradictory as that sounds. I've got plenty of friends from asia and the middle east, and they're similar in attitude, outlook, education etc. Lots of common ground. But I prefer white girls :D

Conventional wisdom on post-workout nutrition seems to have changed since my day (10 years ago). Seems nowadays, lifters take their protien shake immediately after they complete their workout (whey protein + dextrose to restore glycogen). A hardy meal comes 1-1.5 hours post workout. I like this better. Saves all that time I used to spend waiting around (1 hour) to drink my shake.

The second thing I learned this week - high intensity interval training (HIIT) kicks ass. Below is a short search on pubmed. The studies are really impressive. 15 mins of HIIT every other day beats 30-45 minutes of moderate intensity exercise (jogging, stair climbing etc) on nearly every metric, including abdominal fat loss. This is great for me since I hate jogging and I'm sitting here with a 40 inch waist.

There's a decent wiki on HIIT. How best should I do it? 2:1 ratio (work:rest)? Sprint:walk? For how many minutes?

Tried some dumbbell stiff-legged deadlifts tonight. Focused on keeping that arch in the lower back, but really felt it more in the lower back than hams and gluts. I think I'll get a personal trainer. Dont wanna injure myself.

  10. Was eating a bit sloppy so I went back on the Bena/eph/DMAA/GTE and dropped 9lbs in 2 weeks. I couldn't drop that much weight if I had cancer. It's ridiculous. Weighed in at 201.2 this morning. Lifts have dropped a bit. What's amazing is that my intake has not dropped. I am running at 2500 cals and macros of 45/30/25.
