Not surprisingly, you clearly don't understand the purpose of a thought experiment.

"Given the structure of the experiment, it may not be possible to perform it, and even if it could be performed, there need not be an intention to perform it.

Examples of thought experiments include Schrödinger's cat, illustrating quantum indeterminacy through the manipulation of a perfectly sealed environment and a tiny bit of radioactive substance, and Maxwell's demon, which attempts to demonstrate the ability of a hypothetical finite being to violate the 2nd law of thermodynamics."

Then what was the point of your thought experiment, on the psychology portion of a trading forum?

I understand the purpose of a thought experiment quite well. It is to illicit greater thought about an issue, like a perpetual motion machine being a fallacy, or Einstein's theory of Special Relativity.

Bottom line, your idea of compounding trades to turn losses into wins on the probability scale is valid from an intellectual standpoint, but serves no useful purpose because it cannot be achieved in reality.

Read the thread to see the purpose, I don't feed trolls.

Good Lord...I read the thread, and your suppositions are over-reaching the point you were trying to make.

Stop being a twat about this. I was agreeing with your premise, but slamming down the practicality of it, that's all. Mreh, -15 to Gryffendore.

You should probably go find a bunch of threads to add random videos to.

Seriously? Userque just blocked me for my comments? So much for having an intellectual conversation, which is what he wanted to have in this thread...

"...Empty responses like, "this is moronic," or "is anybody this stupid" may make you feel smart (why, I don't know); but the reality is, none of your responses have pointed out any errors, nor have they explained whatever it is you are asserting..."

That's the problem with the whiny bitches of today...They want to have what they say is an intelligent, open, intellectual discussion, but when it doesn't go their way, they just shit their diapers, cry WAH WAh WAH, and ignore/block the person who does not validate their superior intellect. Shameful.

Here you go, userque...Life lesson for you, you little crying baby...

I know it sounds ass backwards but I use the two different techniques of:

    1) averaging down to increase probability

    2) doubling up as techniques to INCREASE the probability of the trade resulting in a successful trade and getting my loss back quickly.

    3) To get me out of a previous loss as fast as possible so I am not chipping my way back to profitability, one whittle at a time, before the day session close. I want the loss off the radar screen…the sooner…the better. Gives me more time to make profitable trades before the session ends.

The foundation for employing these techniques is “price probing” by both sides bulls and bears.

All i know is, your broker is on the sidelines going "do it do it do it! Go Go Go!" Because it requires a lot of ins and outs which make your broker the monies. My broker is looking at my trades and going "Ho hum, ON made a trade this week. Whoopie do", lol!

So it's kind of a martingale system. You mentioned you do have some risk control. What do your down days look like. One other poster with what sounds like a similar system remarked that his off days were horrendous and might take a month or two to get back to even.
