    Don’t be purposefully obtuse.
You don’t see a difference between a media event and a family dinner?

Was Joe Biden Refused Service at ‘Crumb and Get It’ in 2012?
A Virginia cookie shop declined to host a media event with the former U.S. vice president during a campaign stop in 2012.
    https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/was-biden-refused-service-in-2012/

    CLAIM
Vice President Joe Biden was refused service at the Crumb and Get It cookie shop in 2012.

    WHAT'S TRUE
Joe Biden was planning on stopping in a cookie store while campaigning in Virginia in 2012, but the store owner refused, saying he didn't want to pose for a photograph with Biden due to differing political opinions.

    WHAT'S FALSE
Biden was not refused service in person, and he was planning on visiting the store specifically for a political purpose rather than to eat there.

I'll concede that was some narrative twisting by the media if that's the case. Hardly the same response from Biden though:

Shortly after that Biden’s Secret Service detail arrived, thanked McMurray for standing up for his opinion, and purchased several cookies and cupcakes.

  6. Not an AMC? Well I guess the '71 era might have a certain something if you squint and are far away.

I'm still laughing my ass off at that guy who sent me the link and at how half the trumpers here are still wondering that the dots (or "titanium" cable) must be good as they are expensive, like Trump. The balls of the guy selling that stuff is impressive, over time and reaching the whole world he gets a sucker I expect. Perhaps time for a University! You should drop by, google street view does not have that area, just a 'Twin Peaks' looking photo.

My mostly scalping trading system would not work for Trumpers though it is very simple, it needs spades of a magical ingredient, not experiencing fear and anxiety. Knowing whatever happens if it goes bad you can trade out of the situation.

Survival in deserts and worse, climbing, etc. also trains one into a way of moving forward that is not fearful and when random negatives occur, you know how to handle them. Drill everything until it is subconscious.

Asking a true trump supporter to just do something simple without wasting mental effort finding excuses or fault.. not the nature of a king follower.

Two things I wanted to explore are physcological basis for political opinions and the "selling" of political positions in the media. Have a lot to say on these subjects but still need to think some things through before presenting it here. Just received a call and as a result, my week is going to be very busy.

I appreciate your many great posts of last week and wonder how much simply goes over the heads of some of the active ET participants.

Have some interesting stories on this subject, but have to go now.

You are being simplistic here and Trump's base is more diverse than you give credit for. Things have gotten out of balance politically with large groups of people were feeling suppressed. I am worried that things may swing too far the other way now and when combined with a real sociopath in the future may lead to some real suffering.

nother leftist attack on the messenger instead of discussing the substance of the article.

and what you all don't seem to get... its not Trump telling his voters what to think. Its was trump adjusting to what the voters were demanding on many policies.

however, he was one of the early voice on China taking advantage of our idiot politicians.

Its really funny to see a bunch of leftist calling a guy who went to Wharton dumb... as you all sat back on watched the last administration do nothing, leading from behind as the world continued to fall apart.

Did Obama try to do anything with North Korea?
Was his administration responsible for creating Isis?
(90 percent of their guns were brought into the middle east by the CIA)
We obama drawing lines like a moron and watch countries make him look like a fool?

The list of Obama Clinton and Kerry stupidity goes on for pages.

You're right. sorry for the oversight. The substance is crap, chicken poo poo in other words. There, does that help?

jem, the messenger is all important! When the Messenger is Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, this Ellis character, or Donald Trump, or his sycophant mouthpiece, S.H. Sanders, there is no point in reading or listening to what they have to say, unless you are in to it purely for entertainment. Once you're integrity is seriously damaged it is almost impossible to regain it, and these folks all have a history of repeated and intentional misstatement of fact, or, what is actually worse, telling the Truth. but only half of it. They have no integrity left, but they are great entertainers and personalities. Just be on guard with these folks, they are all trying to sell you something... Don't get all weepy eyed and start to think you are hearing Gospel. You are not. It is Chicken poop. Get out the scoop. Possibly your flower beds could use a little boost.

Jem, I meant to add that when you respond to a post by complaining about a non-substantive response, such as mine --I plead guilty -- do not respond with a bunch of what'a'bout-isms, or you'll be guilty of the same offense you just indicted me for, i.e., a non-substantive response. What-a-bouts have lost their cache' . I could just respond with yet another, e.g., "what about all those tongues ripped out during the inquisition, that was a hell of a lot worse!" The trouble with these what-a-bouts is there is no limit to them, and they are as clever as a Junior high joke in the back of the school bus. So let's leave them on the bus among thirteen year-olds where they belong.

the argument you seem to have just supported is...

Ad hominem (Latin for "to the man" or "to the person"[1]), short for argumentum ad hominem, is a fallacious argumentative strategy whereby genuine discussion of the topic at hand is avoided by instead attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument, or persons associated with the argument, rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself.[2] The terms ad mulierem[3] and ad feminam[4] have been used when the person receiving the criticism is a woman.

However, its original meaning was an argument "calculated to appeal to the person addressed more than to impartial reason".[5]

Fallacious ad hominem reasoning is categorized as an informal fallacy,[6][7][8] more precisely as a genetic fallacy, a subcategory of fallacies of irrelevance.
