My opinion that it very good to have coach or mentor in any business. And comparing with sport any good sportsman has not only one coach but the team which support him. It's very good to have mentor in business who could explain you some unwritten rules and nuances. But trading attracts a lot of adventurers and frauds. So it's really difficult to find someone who can teach you. Next point every good trader has own strategy, speed of trading, special software which might be not useful for you. Because they might trade in the other time zone, time frame, other instruments. Also, you might be not ready to learn. When we provide education courses we found that only 10% of students do homeworks. We ask to check all our inforamtion, and less than 5 % make own researches and check their or our approaches constantly. Majority looking for some easy approaches (Holy Graal) which everytime and everywhere might give them profit. The most popular questions on open webinar: where should I open position? And will Gold, Crude Oil, SP and so on grow up today? Trading is more complicated than knowing point of opening position. We spend many time graduating in the Universities to learn some disciplines like engineer, doctor, manager. Deciding that will learn course of trading within 2 weeks only listening material. It doesn't work in such way. Trading education is similar as driving education. You don't need to know the whole theory and how work all mecanismes but you need necessary knowledge and practice to trade well. Without practice you can't drive. And on the first stage you will do a lot of mistakes, it's part of education. Everyone done it. The less risk you will take in this period the cheaper will be self education.
Tim Morge was very careful to mention that the 100 Billion+ was offshore, non-US, institutional sovereign wealth funds, that are NOT required to report. He used this excuse throughout almost 30 IB Webinars (2007-2015), calling himself a whale (and "Dr." Morge), and stated that he had THREE PhDs (Physics, Economics, Math). All LIES!!! Morge had an eloquent answer for everything. A consummate fraudster.
Most people cannot understand risk -they tailgate, smoke, take dubiously sourced drugs, and eat disgusting food. Then they freak about about getting on a plane (and that's just my son!)
I'm a person of integrity I only want money I have made honestly -I'm sure you are too but you'd have to be some kind of arsehat to charge people money wehn you don't know what you're doing . Van Tharp charges bundles but has successful outcomes
I am not aware of any other paid mentors returned their mentees' money because they didn't think their students were ever going to be successful. Me? I am just a mom & pop amateur retail, not qualified to mentor anyone even for free.
There are countless threads here at ET involving someone either looking for a mentor or asking for help with their struggles in trading. Unfortunately, every one that a another member ask that struggling thread to start a trade journal to show what they are doing in their trading... I have not seen any of those traders post a trade journal after another ET member stated they can help if there's a trade journal. How hard is it to post a trade journal with questions ? Apparently its an impossible task for most looking for a mentor. Simply, they are not willing to do the work as something as basic as showing where they're having problems in their trading nor are they willing to understand that documentation of their trading will provide useful feedback for anyone interested in helping the trader even if its not mentoring. P.S. Too many traders do not understand the difference between mentoring versus coaching. Reality, they're asking for "coaching"...not mentoring. Another common experience I've had on ET, a newb will raise a question, when either myself or others reply, the newb will just ignore the response. They are so dambed lazy or ignorant, they can't raise the energy to continue the discussion. One of the reasons I'm reluctant to talk much with newbs.
