I was in cash for the day on intraday There ws no trend all the way up to the 30min leg on the daily lateral channel 60 points wide (leg 6) That after market stuff on illiquidity you do after hours is just like Mark Rosalbo (page 82 of Futures AUG 03) on the QQQ a while back. My Gothemberg built King's Cruiser (sloop rigged and named the "Consort") was US 122 mostly based out of Greenwich Conn. but US HQTRS was Annapolis, MD.
Based on your timing, I've got my theoretical signals (SP500 Spot) as follows: 15:27 L 15.36 L 15:50 S 16:02 S 16:05 S 16:46 S 15:52 L 19:08 L 20:08 S (not 22:08)
My oh my!!! - You guys have been busy today. I take a day out, and when I get back there are 10 whole pages of new posts to read. It seems that the question of psychology etc has prompted a lot of response... If it took me best part of 2 hours to read through, then it must have taken an awful lot longer to write. There have been some great points made there as well. I'm going to need to re-read it all just to catch up and digest it though... Best to all Natalie
I've asked before, and I'm sure I'll be ignored again, but would any of you super-traders care to post a statement documenting your returns?
This is now the point where you would say "bullshit". Maybe you'd say "bullshit" at 30pts, or 10pts, or like many traders on ET 1.5 pts. Think about what your "bullshit" point is. This is your mental barrier. The mission of this thread should be to identify that mental barrier and try to lift it. I know traders who can average 6 or more points per day on the ES consistently. This is far from utopia, but to you it might already be the bullshit point, which means you're currently at a disadvantage, that is handicapped. Oh, bullshit. I love how people just throw around the word average and consistently when they really mean "every now and then for a couple of years". 1.5pts is not simply a "mental barrier". That you think it is has me wondering whether you've ever even placed a trade. (Certainly the fact that you've got time to write reams of BS during the trading day itself does nothing to convince me otherwise.) Where are they then, these people that have averaged say 5pts a day for the past 6 years? Anyone know of one? That they can verify? Well, call me stupid, but the collective inability of thousand upon thousands of very intelligent, very tenacious, very committed traders to turn in this kind of performance for any extended period of time (ie, > 5 years) has to count for something. Simply writing it off as a "mental block" and then continuing on your merry way to fantasazing about the riches you'll have after making you equally fantastic 10pts a day for the next 10 years seems pretty delusional to me. Calling 1.5pts a "mental block" seems to me to indicate something like a "oh, oh, I've made 1.5pts today. My, my, I'd better stop" attitude. Which is obviously ludicrous. One simply keeps trading, keeps trying to find better ways to trade, to minimize losses, improve winners all the time. It's just that when you look back and calculate the average winnings for the time period, it's very difficult to average much more than 1.5 - 2pts. Again, the simple hard truths of verified trading performances. (That's right, verified. No one's (apart from the other dreamers) really interested in the inflated claims of the "Scientists" of the world, or the "this guy I know"s.) What really annoys me is the close-mindedness of so many ET'ers who poop around saying that 1pts or 2pts or whatever is the most you can supposedly make in a day. It seriously annoys me. I can outperform this all the time, and many others do much better than me. I wish those ET'ers wouldn't waste their and my time posting their opinion (and that's all it is - opinion) of what is possible. It really is an annoyance, to say the least, not to mention sad. These people will never get out of their mental trap unless they open up. My girlfriend, for example, thinks that making 3-6 points on the ES is completely normal. She thinks that's what futures traders make. She has never even seen any of ET's famous frontiers, and will never be exposed to those barriers. Bahahaha. Your girlfriend! Lol. For your own sake I hope I'm misreading that paragraph. Are you suggesting that people, like Candletrader, for example, are saying that 1 or 2pts is the most you can make in a day? Lol. It's the long run average. Of course you can have 10 or 15 pt days. In fact, depending on how you trade, you'll actually need to -- simply to make up for the losing days you'll inevitably have. Listen dude. Don't you think it would be better to first go and make your millions and then come and tell everyone how to do it?
Simply put, I agree 100% with Alfonso's comments... it pains me to do so, since I actually have had many a Brotherly feeling about Scientist...
I would not think any of the many super-traders here or elsewhere would be willing to provide us their statements for no reasons, unless for some reasons such as setting-up/starting a hedge funds soon (even if we totally trust the electronic copies to be acceptable due to no alternations). Maybe a much more practical, easy and acceptable way (to both parties) is for them to provide us real-time signals, so that we can check the results here immediately. As they might not plan to spend much time to entertain our expectations, perhaps we can randomly select only a couple of days during a particular week for this game, prior to its starting. Regarding consistency, probably we could consider the game would last for a few weeks, if they still have spare time with us here. Practically we don't have to request them to provide us too much information of their systems, that are their trade secrets. Therefore, the real-time signals are the most important and maximum data that we expect and want to learn from them. They might worry about the possibility of supplying too much signals of that the information could lead to reveal a part of their holy grails. We might have to accept also a compromised arrangement that only certain signals around some pre-determined time slots would be required. And preferably the time slots (such as once every hour) would be also randomly selected in advance, of course by us . Anything else :confused? We look forward to hearing from them soonest.
