Memphis riots , Tyre Nichols

  1. There we have it.

The lefties want more of what we have seen in recent decades because it is working so well, apparently.

And trust me, you will get it.

UsualTard's go-to answer to everything is "it's poverty."

Meanwhile his demtards and demtard policies produce hoards of people who are unemployable because they are strung out on drugs, lack any work ethic, have fifth grade skills when they graduate from high school, and are consumed with figuring out which bathroom to use- or they are living in a tent on the sidewalk, slip sliding away in human sht, And UsualTard and his ilk want to double down on perpetuating all of those factors that got them there.

Maybe that is a reason they are poor.

"the overall state of the country is high right now." We can agree that most dems are high right now.

You think is this current Memphis scenario the victim was poor? Does not look that way. Looks like he is a 22 year old skateboarder living with mom and has a car to drive or access to mom's.

You think the cops were acting out of poverty? I doubt it. Most likely they got a paycheck until a few days ago.

Try to stay on topic. We know you have the poverty script from the DNC that you are pre-programmed to unload but it does not always apply.

Go back and check your facts on this latest incident regarding Mr. Tyre. It’s no wonder you’re totally lost, you don’t even bother to try to get this stuff right.

As to your other characterizations, this country has always a less educated class and drug and alcohol addicts, drop outs, unemployables, etc. You problem is that those numbers are lower in democrat states. By and large democrat states are better than your preferred way of governance. But again this means nothing to you because you don’t even bother to take an objective view.

And yes, it’s mostly about poverty. The stress on the people living in poverty, the stress on the cops policing impoverished areas it’s all a powder keg. People not living in poverty of any race rarely commit violent crimes and don’t forget this unit was focused on reducing violent crime.

I’d also like to make a more general point related to this unit. What the hell were they thinking naming this police unit “scorpion?” This should tell us all the city’s approach to policing that no one in the chain said “hold on, wait a minute. This might give the community the wrong idea about what we are trying to accomplish.”

Yet they complain about all of these “woke” mega corporations then claim those same woke corporations are actually run by conservatives. These guys cannot keep anything straight. The truth is the higher up you go the more moderate people are. Or at least that’s my experience.

The charge is too light. It should be first degree not second.

  8. Let's just stay with your primary thesis. Not sure chugging away with all your verbal diarrhea
prevents users from seeing the absurdity.

Comrade Tard says:" The quality of people and the overall state of the country is high right now."

And I say, if you like the trend of things, trust me, you will keep on getting more of it with the dems. Many of what normal people would consider problems are actually their goals. Think drugs are problem? The dems are biggest drug runners and human smugglers in history. Think crime is a problem? The decriminalize just about anything they can and release the criminal. Think inflation is a problem? Never enough for the dems. Think illegal immigrants are a problem? Wrong again. The massive invasion is their goal. Think poor education is a problem? You can count on the dems to work overtime to keep anything any learning out of school that might involve discipline, actual right or wrong answers, and will continue to ban any legacies of white colonialism such as math, science, finance, etc. Reading shall consist of listening to an occasional drag queen reading books such as "Heather Has Two Mommies and They Both Have Dicks." Yup, life is groovy in the United States and the dems are doubling and tripling down on it.

You are not being fair to Biden.

The George Floyd Bill was introduced in 2020 during the Trump Admin. (Trump vowed to veto it.) The Bill Passed the House but Republicans blocked it in the Senate. In 2021 it was again introduced in the House and once again passed. President Biden was a strong supporter of the bill. But, again, after long negotiations with Senate Republicans and compromises by the Senate Democrats, the Bill was blocked by Senate Republicans, who threatened a filibuster if the Bill were to be brought to the floor. Without enough Republican votes to overcome a filibuster (60 votes in total) the bill was doomed.

    from Wiki:
Biden repeatedly pushed for the legislation to be advanced; in his April 2021 speech to Congress, Biden praised bipartisan "productive discussions" on police reform and called upon Congress to send him the bill by the one-year anniversary of Floyd's death.[37][38] In announcing that negotiations had failed, Booker said that the parties were unable to agree about the fate of qualified immunity for police departments and officers and that Republicans were unwilling to agree to a national database to track police misconduct.[7]

    Passed House (03/03/2021)
George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021

This bill addresses a wide range of policies and issues regarding policing practices and law enforcement accountability. It increases accountability for law enforcement misconduct, restricts the use of certain policing practices, enhances transparency and data collection, and establishes best practices and training requirements.

The bill enhances existing enforcement mechanisms to remedy violations by law enforcement. Among other things, it does the following:

    • lowers the criminal intent standard—from willful to knowing or reckless—to convict a law enforcement officer for misconduct in a federal prosecution,
    • limits qualified immunity as a defense to liability in a private civil action against a law enforcement officer, and
    • grants administrative subpoena power to the Department of Justice (DOJ) in pattern-or-practice investigations.
It establishes a framework to prevent and remedy racial profiling by law enforcement at the federal, state, and local levels. It also limits the unnecessary use of force and restricts the use of no-knock warrants, chokeholds, and carotid holds.

The bill creates a national registry—the National Police Misconduct Registry—to compile data on complaints and records of police misconduct. It also establishes new reporting requirements, including on the use of force, officer misconduct, and routine policing practices (e.g., stops and searches).

Finally, it directs DOJ to create uniform accreditation standards for law enforcement agencies and requires law enforcement officers to complete training on racial profiling, implicit bias, and the duty to intervene when another officer uses excessive force.

For the record Mr Nichols worked at FedEx and had no criminal record. So let’s keep these things straight. There is no reason to impugn his character.

But sure, America is in relatively good shape right now. We are big country so our problems are going to seem large on raw numbers but when broken down per capita or as a percentage we are in a very good time right now. Things really weren’t better back in the day. Crime in the 1980s through 2000 was off of the charts. Reagan was blowing out deficits, drug use and alcohol was awful. Unemployment and unemployables. Like I said we are in strong shape right now. You are just nostalgic for back in your day.
