    OK, we agree. But then you can not use that "4 billion unbanked" argument for bitcoin. We are arguing about bitcoin, not generally cryptos.

    Wait till Elon Musk announces he's launching a fleet of cube-sats into low earth orbit that suck their computing power from the sun and essentially execute all blockchain computational transactions fossil-fuel free.

    To be fair, crypto mining does use less energy than gold mining. At least the tradie/miner is using solar power. Maybe crypto mining will lead to further development in solar tech?

    Gold is mostly used for jewelry but it does have some industrial uses as well. Both have some sort of real benefit though, even if it's just vanity.
