We've been through before. This new variant is now in pretty much every country on the planet. It just has not been detected yet. How stupid can researchers be? This is how it all started in the first place back in 2019.

Must we re-educate folks again? *sighs* fine.

So far the vaccines have been effective against variants. We'll know about Omicron in a few weeks.

Of COURSE we'll need a new vaccine! And it will simply be the fourth booster shot. Here comes the variant game. I warned you all this was coming. This game is going to be played for years and years, and certain companies are going to get very very rich off of this COVID shit.

The latest "whoa" in the news cycle is how they skipped "Nu" and went to Omicron. Nu was not scary enough, and confusing to stupid people because of how it is pronounced. Just like how I predicted they would skip over "Zeta" last year (which comes WAY before nu and omicron), because it reminds people of Catherine Zeta-Jones. The world cannot handle that shit.

Nu sounds like "new" and Xi reads like China's president. Those are probably the reasons.

Yep. Lamba and Mu were already designations for Variants of Interest, but so many letters were skipped over them, including the aforementioned Zeta. Nu sounds too much like New Thing. Facking shitfucks!

Remember last year and still a little this year...the Covid-Deniers argued religiously that Covid is just like the FLU. Therefore, it's not a big deal.
    • Well...the FLU is a yearly booster shot and in some places where there's a high incidence of FLU infections/deaths... it's a booster shot every 6 months.
Now the same Covidiots are bitching / complaining that Covid will have a booster shot like the FLU maybe every six months whenever there's a new Variant of Concern or when the vaccines wane. :D
    • Revolving stupidity and more people will be hospitalized or die because of such.
Just as ignorant, Covidiots don't understand that if a new Variant of Concern that comes along and is more effective in attacking our immune system even if we're vaccinated...will do the same to those that have a Natural Immunity because of a prior infection to a different Variant of Concern and the new Variant of Concern will be more effective against the immune system of those not vaccinated.

Something else to contemplate...Covid Vaccines and Covid therapeutic treatment centers are not going to be free forever here in North America. We're going to need to start paying for this directly out of our pockets or have medical insurance to cover the cost just like any other vaccine we get to prevent disease.

It truly is a new normal

At least when a new strain of the flu is announced, the markets don't drop 3 percent in light liquidity and lockdowns are not on the horizon, because there was no need to shut down the economy.

I miss the old days, when the flu gave us the sniffles, but we went to work anyway with tissues and green tea. Back then, the government did not pay you to stay home even though you are not sick.

Now you must lockdown in your home because you might infect a 124-YO woman, thus ruining her quality of life.
