Vaccines are mankind's latest and best attempt to fight diseases. Can mankind eradicate any and all diseases forthwith? No. Is that failing? No. We do the best we can. If you can do better, contact the CDC and let them know how to eradicate any and all diseases forthwith. The COVID vaxxes: Increase the odds of survival. Lessen the symptoms. And as a result: They save lives, overall. They free up ICU beds for other emergencies like stroke victims, heart attack victims, broken limb victims, auto accident victims, etc.
Every virus in history ended before the majority were vaccinate. Prior to vaccines. Sometimes it did not end well for the virus naive..but herd immunity naturally derived...kept human immune systems evolving and virus evolved to be less deadly..typically. Now vaccinating the high risk with a temporary vaccine while in a pandemic could change natural history. You have to think to understand. You can't accept the narrative blindly.
LOL -- tell us how polio, smallpox, measles, etc. were all ended without vaccines. You post some really wacky nonsense.
I said prior to vaccines. Vaccines are only about 200 years old...so how do you think we are still here? I know you deny natural herd immunity... because you are anti science.
The virologist who fled Hong Kong to come to the US with the Covid warning, Dr. Li-Meng Yan, said in interview a couple of days ago, "... the Chinese have been working on a safe and effect coronavirus vaccine for 20 years and don't have one yet". Cosidering it took > 40 years to come up with a vaccine for polio.. not a surprise. Of course we should be able to make one quicker with all our technology, et al... but developing a safe and effective vaccine is still quite a challenge. Fortunately, American ingenuity got 'er solved in about 9 months!
Maybe you need to go back and read the history from the medieval period forward -- where these diseases would pop-up every few years and kill a large portion of the population. Fortunately due to vaccines many of these diseases have been effectively wiped out globally.
