  1. 6 month restriction is if you are not registered. Registering will get rid of the restriction. Try IBM symbol

  2. Man....Jerry....do you have a wireless chip installed in your skin or somethign man.....you answer everythign right away man.

As for your softward....I have used Medved Quote Tracker before.....I liked the product....but found a couple things difficult.

    1) The charts dont always have continuity from one day to the next and i cant seem to get them to stay on 5 minute intervals for days on end. I end up losing the chart and it puts me on 2 min intervals showing the stock price where the stock isnt even trading

    2) Ten symbolys isnt enough i find

    3) Sometimes the program freezes

Other than that, its pretty good.

  3. Thanks.

It sounds like you were using Scottrade free streaming quotes when you did try it. Scottrade really sucks (datafeed and broker). The free datafeed sucked even more.

    1) if you have a decent datafeed, you would have backfill and would not have any issues

    2) 10 symbol restriction was a Scottrade specific thing. All other datafeeds are higher. IB is 100. MB Trading is 100. IQFeed is 500, etc..

    3) Lots of things have changed over the years. We have fixed a quite a few issues. If you get the latest version and have a problem, email us.

is there a way to lock at a chart with the L2 and the raw data screen instead of manually changing the a ticker on all three screens individually??

also is there dual axis charting capabilities??

    thanks

  5. You can link windows in QT - when you change a symbol in one linked window, the others change automatically. The beta version supports multiple link groups

Dual Axis charting - you mean having 2 symbols on the same chart? If so, not at this time. If you mean something else, then please give me details

  6. I'm curious is there any chance that the QT alert functions will be improved anytime soon?

For example is it possible to apply a global alert to only selected portfolios and not all of them? It gets annoying when stocks on a non-traded model portfolio keep giving alert signals just like the candidate watchlist.

Is it possible to combine two alerts into one? A single alert for a volume change and price change for example instead of two separate alerts?

If one has a large number of stocks under observation individual customization of the alerts becomes a drag.

Thanks for a very good piece of public software.

  7. Jerry,

    1. My historical charts lag a second or two after intraday charts, but both suppose to draw L1 data. Is any way to fix it?
    2. Does Prophet.net still provide data for free users? 2 days backfill?

    Thanks.

  8. Fight Club,

    1) the new historical charts are updated from the intraday data, but to save on the CPU, the update rate is defaulted to a slower rate. You can go to OPTIONS/Edit Preferences menu, CHARTS tab, MISC sub tab and on the bottom right change the refresh frequency.

    2) The free backfill sources are BigCharts and Yahoo, though I guess Prophet does work with free subscriptions on some securities - stocks, not futures.

2 day backfill? Prophet is max 10 days. If you are max 2, then thats because you are using un-registered version of QT. registering increases max days on the intraday charts to 10

  9. Don't have any plans to apply global alerts to specific portfolios. Alerts are on symbols, not on portfolios - a symbol may be in multiple portfolios for example. The alerts will only be triggered if QT is getting data on the given symbol, so even if the alert is global, if a symbol is not being quoted, then there would be no alerts. Are you getting quotes on all portfolios? If so, maybe not doing that would be better, and just set QT to auto backfill when you open charts.

Cannot combine multiple alerts. I would like to make alerts on indicators and other computations in the future. No ETA (y, I know that would be the next question :) )

  10. Jerry, you are without doubt, The Man.

You are completely right. I was using Scottrade....and knowing that, you obviously know your product inside and out.

On top of that, your response time is a record man. This is the best customer service I have EVER seen.

Congrats on a jobe well done and I hope you benefit from your hard work by becoming one wealthy SOB, if you are not already.

    Regards
