Not sure I understand your second sentence. Often the ad window is blank. Does this mean ads are being blocked?

  2. if often ad window is blank, then definitely the ad is being blocked. QT generally tries to detect that and get the ad from a different source, but that does not always work. You definitely have something blocking the ads.

On QT there are two windows for ads. A small window in the upper left and a large window in the upper middle. The small window show ads constantly. The large window shows ads occasionally. I've been clicking on some ads and my QT hasn't been shutting me down for quite awhile now. Hmmm.....(It'll probably shut me down as soon as I post this. I'm knocking on wood as I type.)

Also, Jerry we need a market clock on each chart beside the bid/ask information. Even IB charts have a clock at the top.

  4. ads - like I said - you definitely have something blocking them, so the message about the blocking is definitely legitimate. You did not reply regarding firewall, or hosts file or any other software that maybe doing ad blocking

Timer on charts - right click, VIEW, Countdown

    Jerry ....

What do the negative volume numbers signify
in the T/S window. Im using IB data feed.

  6. negative volumes mean that there was a problem with the volume data being sent. Basically, means that the volume on a quote is lower than the volume on the previous quote.

If you click on the V button on top of the raw data window, QT will switch to showing absolute volume values - you will see that the volume decreased on that quote

    Jerry.....

I do use a firewall. And, I wouldn't know a "host" file from a toast file.

Today is the first day I've had QT on for an extended period in years, because in the past QT seemed a mess to me. As I indicated earlier, QT has improved greatly since my previous experience.

From what I can understand today, if I occasionally click on ads, QT allows me a constant connection.

  9. not exactly. QT will basically not perform ad blocking detection if ads are regularly clicked.

You can never click on ads and not have any problems if you do not block the ads. Just go into the firewall settings and turn off ad blocking while running QT, or register QT.
