Thanks, I'll keep watching. I really like the idea of coding to your API and then having the flexibility to seamlessly switch between your many data providers.
Jerry..... Just can't get this. How do I get a five minute chart to fill up the whole page? No after hours data and no data from the previous day? Seems like I have to have two days showing or have all the five minute candles on the left or the right side of a chart.
hit the 6 key on the chart (same as selecting Current Day for the time frame) Right click on the chart, select VIEW from the right click menu, then set it to NEVER show pre/post market data (a sub-menu inside VIEW)
Huh? If you have it set to display 1 day, only 1 day session will be shown. Not sure what you mean by blank on the left - blank with premarket data? Send me a picture, and CHARTS.INI file from the QT folder (email to support@quotetracker.com and include URL to this post)
Okay. Think I've got it figured out for what I need to do. I set it up for two days and use the 6 and 7 keys to expand out/in. I had given up on QT several years ago. I downloaded it just a few days ago to try it again. Tonight I finally got it figured out! Jerry, can you tell me this: In the morning when I start getting data, will the candles remain a constant size through out the day? When I right click on the right hand margin, I'm set to "Dynamic". They used to start out giant size, then look "normal" later in the day. (That's how long since I tried this.)
If you have previous day's data, I would not expect it to change much if you have the time period set to a fixed value (2 hours, 6 hours, etc). If you have it set to current day only, it may look a bit large at first. If you want them a constant size vertically, you need to right click on the scale and instead of selecting Dynamic, select "Sliding Window" then specify the Y axis range that you want the sliding window to have. Otherwise, QT will dynamically size the candles to best fit the window based on whatever data you have.
BTW, check out the Point & Figure charting now available for both Intraday and EOD charts: http://www.quotetracker.com/beta
