  1. by open hostility, I mean open hostility toward us. They went well out of their way to impede QuoteTracker integration, including dragging in lawyers a few years ago and explicitly targeting QuoteTracker in their EULA, though never enforced except against accounts held by me and my partner. All this after multiple attempts by us to get them to cooperate on very favorable terms that would not have cost them a penny.

  2. Do you see a anti-competitive conspiracy? .... Some of the larger companies (no disrespect Jerry) don't see competition as a good thing?

What's the basis for such a closed approach?

  3. i'd suggest anybody who uses this program to register it, cos i forgot to pay for the quarter, and so i got ads. the ads do strange things to one's computer.

I just recently set-up and registered QuoteTracker, combined with quotes from IQFeed. So far so good, you guys have done a great job with the design of this software!

Couple of suggestions/wishlist if I may:

    - Is it possible to implement charts with a timeframe of daily? I see that you have integrated Prophet and BigCharts for this purpose, but I think IQFeed offers 120 calendar days backfill for interval as well as 1000 points of daily history?

    - Suggestion regarding existing historical charts: would it be possible to add the ability to save window settings for the historical charts? Currently you get presented with a number of options (indicators, chart colour, etc.) via drop-down boxes, it would be great if those selections could be saved. Doesn't even have to involve multiple templates, just would be nice to see the same settings default each time I open a BigCharts historical.

    - One last note in the "wishlist" category, any plans to implement an internal option chain window in QuoteTracker? For the moment it appears to direct me to a third-party website.

  5. Thanks :)

This is already in the works. We will release the next production version, then the beta with the new historical charts. Refer to:
    http://boards.quotetracker.com/board/showflat.php?Number=53083

As for saving settings on current Hist charts - thats available on the Prophet ones (not bigcharts). Right click on the chart and select "Set As Default"

Option Chains - has been on our todo list for a while, but something always comes up

  6. Kind of curious since there was mention of a wishlist... Has anyone built an RTD or DDE on the Streaming API yet??? RTD preferably since DDE will miss data for highly liquid assets...

    Awesome!

QuoteTracker looks to currently be very well suited towards short-term traders, but being more of a swing/position trader, daily historical is a must for me, I look forward to the addition. :)

I should also mention that I was suprised to see how good the ECN Level II real-time streaming is (specifically Arch). While it doesn't provide as much data as a full Nasdaq L2, it's still quite useful.

    jerry,

not to ask again. But after updating both QT and IB, I'm still not getting full backfill.
    What's going on?

Like this morning, I couldn't get the full backfill until several HOURS into the trading session. Why is that happening?

    thanks! u r da man.
