since I'm getting all my answers here I'll ask another question. How do I get my price bars on top of my indicators. My indicators are hiding the bars. Price is most important...so I need that on top. Thanks
Which indicators? Moving averages? You can not put price over the indicators as far as I know... Just don't use FAT indicators...
Thats strange. So the indicator must be more important to users than the price? All indicators should be background to price. I'm using some bands and moving averages and they are on top. That needs changing. Another problem......alot of times my volume bars are pegged at the top and I cant see how high they are. thanks
You are right. Go to the QT board and put this in the "Wishlist" and then repost to the thread so the Medved's keep seeing it until the do something about it... How thick are you setting your indicators at? Are you using bars, candles or tick lines?
My indicator thickness setting is 4. I use plain jane one color bars. Has nobody complained about this before?
Could color palette choices solve this with a indicator and price in the same level...could be some programming changes.... Medved seems to have created layers...
I have my indicator(s) set at 2. Four is pretty humongous for me. Maybe you can slim them down a little bit? I don't remember anyone complaining about this but maybe it is time to. Bars do get covered up more than candles obviously because candles are fatter. You cannot make the bars fatter which is a bummer... Tick lines you can though... What I don't like is bars and candles covering up my pivot line designations and prices... I must go tell them this...
QT has a neat feature called translucency and you can do some pretty neat stuff. One solution would be to put an identical chart with just price bars directly over the one with indicators and then adjust the transparency to taste. This would put the indicators behind the price bars edit: I posted this just guessing that this would work. After trying it , it doesnt work as well as I thought it would but I believe if I played with it a bit I could get it pretty close to what you want.
reiehaxm, the indicators cannot be placed behind the price. If you do that, they are not visible. You don't really want a thickness of 4 on the indicators. thats way too much. As for the volume - go to OPTIONS/Edit Preferences menu, CHARTS tab, MISC sub tab and change the volume spike filter to a larger #, such as 6 (4 is default)
