  1. Electric has paid his dues. I could tell you stories. Heres one...ask Electric about trading the ES with the 100 bar Standard Deviation. (He about deviated us to the poor house!)

oh lord...how about when he martingaled us to the food stamp office...or how about the time he woke up at midnight screaming he got it!! rushing to his computer tripping over the furniture. I didn't see him for 48 hours and a month later all he made was a loss of 2k....but he had as much as 48 k before loosing it back(this was back in the days of traderbamboo and Investor R/T...what happened to that person?).

I can tell you that Electric has circualted millions of dollars back and forth( and yes his broker in Beverly Hills once upon a time did in fact take him out to lunch) and he seems to have finally found himself. We shall see how it goes and see how his second year of this type of trading does(don't worry he can't keep his mouth shut and all of you will be included). I keep him heavily medicated to maintain this, but I worry about his liver.

    Wifey

P.S. If you turn Electric loose with QT, we would lose everything, don't let him fool you. (I have asked Bill and Chad to just humor Electric...and Jerry steer clear of Electric if you want to have any sleep)

  2. electricsavant,

Isnt the reason your trading is not compicated because you are following an advisory service? Or have I got that wrong? Please explain.

    Thanks in advance,

  3. No,

I make more money than wifey, now and I do not use any advisories...her accounts are those Option accounts that she uses my money management and diversification techniques with(I can still get excited about her accounts though). I would never allow her to use hypothetical results from an advisory service. This particular advisory was verified directly from the broker. The new options advisory is someone I have spoke with and traded with over the years and I know it is reputable because I know the trader. I felt she needed to diversify instead of having all her eggs in two option spreads and one instrument per month.
So now she is in the land of OEX options too.

I trade Forex with two systems just now (One long term and one short term system). Together, Wifey and I, just may be able to show quadruple returns this wonderful year of 2005. (if only backtests forward tested the same, sheesh, I would make 3,242.93 % APR this year on my new short-term Forex system and would be tempted to throw all of our money to it, but I know better...gotta stay diversified!)

The point here is. There are many ways to trade and you scalpers must remember to calculate your labor cost into your trading. Also AFTER you pay yourself, you must have a MINIMUM of 25% APR return on your risk capital...it is risk capital ya know...

I know consistent scalpers that treat this like a business, and it does not need to be a roller coaster gambling lifestyle. I think one must find himself or herself to discover just how they want to trade.

Anyways QT and the retail trader seem to like one another...

P.S. What keeps us out of trouble is that Wifey is a full- time student and I work a full-time job. Trading less was the answer for us. Charts and Indicators for Swing trading might be interesting though...But I have not figured it out yet. Scalping has always been interesting to me and sometimes when I'm bored I scalp the GBP/JPY with a little system I developed. But no indicators or QT are needed.

P.S.S. Look we trade for a reason PROFIT...if someone can do it better than I...thats ok. Many pro traders diversify themselves with other CTA's managment skills...this is not an EGO thing...

  4. Moderators,

There is a method to the postings from the Savants. Its an education quest. I hope there are many readers here that can catch the messages intended. For you experienced traders thank you for tolerating these postings. there is a method to this forum of teaching and madness...

    I call wifey my Altar-ego (altar....get it?)

  6. Mr Renault,

I am surprised you read all of that..If ET allowed editing for more than one hour, I would not see Electric tonight...

    Don't encourage him!

  7. No, thou have not offended thee or anyone else on these boards.
I was just trying vainly to make the obsurd connotation that with
various charts for each emini to set up it does indeed take a few
minutes out of the glorious day to tweak QT into it's rightfull shape.

Forgive me that I have forgotten you are not using charts at this
moment in time as I have read this elsewhere here at ET, our
trading homebase. Very happy to see you and the wifey are
having such a great time with your newest trading adventure.

And lo and behold, stay away from the QT if it will save you your $$$ ! :)

  10. FYI - We released a new beta today that should have the sliding scale adjust automatically if you scroll the chart horizontally. Also smoothed out the rate of change on the Y scale when using a mouse.

If you are already using QT, you can update if you:
    1) select OPTIONS/Edit Preferences menu, MISC screen and check the box to be notified of beta updates
    2) select OPTIONS/WebUpdate

    Otherwise:
    http://www.quotetracker.com/beta

PLEASE NOTE: - the auto adjustment of the sliding scale when the right most visible price is right at the high or low of the scale still needs a fix - right now it is too sensitive causing the adjustments to happen a bit too often
