20 minutes? I would be asking myself, am I keeping it simple?..but hey if he's profitable, who am I to question his set-up? It's just not my style.
Jerry, Sliding window still doesn't work for me. As soon as I change it to a smaller number than the current window last candle goes out of the picture.
very true. with jerry and his team, it is very fast .. often within minutes. nothing but good things to say about QT, Jerry, and his team. kudos and keep up the awesome work take care - omni
In released beta, the sliding window should work if you are watching the current prices, but does not adjust as you scroll the window to the left and the rightmost LAST moves out of the range. That will be fixed in next release.
i dont scroll left or right on horizontal scale, i just watch the current prices and try to change sliding window to a smaller number.
When you have to re-do QT from scratch to your liking it can take more than 20 minutes to get it right. If ALL your settings are blown out of the water... ElectricSavant... give us a pic of your setup so we can see how simple things can be...
SimpleSavant writes, I use OHLC Excel (hint:range filter in one of the columns using conditional formatting excel functions to color them profitable) for my most recent profitable short term spot Forex system. (you would not believe its percent return! I could increase to quadruple digit APR returns this year if it were to continue) I do not use charts! Except those free ones from Oanda for my longer term system, but no indicators(I draw horizontal lines on 3 instruments in red or green to show my average price and direction). Options are handled for me through an advisory I have subscribed to this past year. I just subscribed to another advisory and split up some funds for my option trading. So I trade through two advisories now for options with OptionsXpress AutoXecute. I am rather excited to get my first trade through this new advisory. I manage the Money managment portion of the Automatic options trading. I think that Money management and diversification has been key to my success. As my funds grow, (I hope they continue to do that) the challenges I face is how to diversify.... not trade! But I know all this can change in short order, so I do not want to appear to be bragging. Everyday has become exciting for me, I must admit. I work a full time job, and have triple digit returns on my portfolio. I find when I complicate things and try to trade shorter term, I lose! (I am sad to say when I traded full time, I only made $4.00 per hour after taxes, tool cost and 25% APR on risk capital, and yes I had charts then ...hehehee). Michael B. P.S I don't have anything to post Version...sorry. But if I were to use charting and a feed, QT seems the best way to go...But for high end Index Futures scalpers perhaps a Globex terminal, Bloomberg and/or TT might be the ticket. If I were a serious equities level two trader...Investor R/T with an E-Sig feed hands down... P.S.S. The point with my earlier seemingly sarcastic post, was to drive home the FACT that complicating trading is not closer to the grail. I know for me to uncomplicate is to extract money from the market. Excuse me if I offend...
I had a problem with the sliding window today. I use 1 min candlesticks with a 2 hour period. I had some trouble with my ER2 chart. At about 10:35 (EST) or so the lows were dropped off as the price rebounded. It seemed like the oldest prices should have been pushed off the chart, no the ones from a couple of minutes ago. Then as new lows were made at about 9:00, they were also off the chart and the current candles could not be seen. I had a few moving averages on the chart, and a MACD on the bottom made as small as it would go. I tried a few different things but nothing seemed to help until the price came back up - then everything was fine again. This is a great feature.
